Raheem Mostert resigns with Dolphins

Not sure why anybody would want Wilson back. He had one good game, and then didn't provide a whole lot of value after that. Mostert was the better back when he was healthy. Mostert will be a great backup RB after we get a true number 1 RB.
Agree that Mostert was the more consistent of the two, but Wilson showed a lot more yards after contact and ability to get the "tough" yards.

Mostert showed some stuff against the Jets that we hadn't seen but Wilson is a tougher runner for sure.
In the long run, they both have some plusses and minuses... but on the stat sheet, they were twins.

Mostert, I think, is the better complimentary back when you have a true starter because he is a guy who you want to keep fresh and get him into space, so he has more value as part-time player than Wilson does.
Wilson is a better bet for early down carries and a heavier workload... but I really believe we'll draft a guy to do this... and it's why we signed Mostert first.

I'm fine with him coming back, just as long as he is used in a complimentary role. We need a legit RB1 that can take over games in the 4th quarter when we're trying to run the clock out, and none of the RB's we had on our roster last year are that. Mostert is excellent in a change of pace\situational role, but if our running game is going to depend on him, we're in trouble.

Unless they are truly elite, backs do not take over games late. The offensive line does.

...and our line is not built to do that. We don't prioritize maulers. McD's zone-based system is designed for quick, smart linemen. We are always going to have a problem when we try to just line up and punch someone in the mouth; we lack the personnel for that.

I may be the exception of people who didn’t want him back. šŸ˜ž
Sorry, missing the payoff game didn’t sit well, and still doesn’t.
And how pissed would you have been when he fumbled a handoff at our own 8 yard line because he was trying to play with basically one hand tied behind his back (his dominant hand BTW)? Mostert is tough and if he could've gone (without hurting the team) he surely would've. Mostert not playing didn't lose us that game, Coach McD screwed the pooch on that one. Raheem will be a complimentary/time share back who makes more than enough big plays to earn his modest salary. I think we'll all be glad he's a Phin this year Doc.

Had Mostert played, surely we wouldn’t have had 38 delay of game penalties šŸ˜‚

SF was able to control games with their OL and they also don't prioritize maulers. There's no reason Miami can't have a similar objective.
