NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the Lions have given no recent indication they're willing to trade backup QB Josh McCown.

Schefter says the Lions may be posturing, but that it "sounds to (him)" like the team will not be moving McCown before the season. This would eliminate another candidate to start at QB for the Raiders in 2007, possibly forcing them to focus their attention on Daunte Culpepper.

We have to try to get something out of the Raiders, at this point anything would be nice. Maybe we can get a 5th from the Raiders for DC.

give them CPep, our number 9 pick and our number 60 pick for the top spot in the draft (then take your choice of Quinn, Calvin Johnson, JaMarcus Russell). :D

that makes a ton of nonsense!!!
obviously they are trying to get a signal caller so that they can draft calvin and not russel

the big 'ol :D should have tipped you off that even i don't think al davis is that far gone...

To get something [draft pick] out of nothing [Culpepper] always sounds like a great deal.

That sounds great, since we got a Princely Sum [2nd & 7th] from the Pats for basically a Pauper [Welker], I'd be happy with a 7th for him at this point....

(Don't take that the wrong way, I loved Welker, but I'm oving the magic tricks Muller is pulling out of his hat & can't wait for the Draft!)

That may be the only way that the Trent Green deal goes down before the draft: Raiders send us a 5th for Culpepper, and we re-route that pick to Kansas City for Green. Otherwise, we're looking at conditional 2008's for both players...at best.

I'll go you one further. It sounds to me like Tampa Bay got to Detroit: "We'll deal with you to get you out of the two spot, but you have to squash any deal with Oakland for a QB so they have to take Russell or Quinn instead of Calvin Johnson. Then we'll take Johnson at #2 and you can take whoever at #4."

Pure evil, but I respect it.

Good analysis. Seems like a match made in heaven for TB and Detroit. Lions are starting to eye Gaines Adams. Meaning they could move back and get the player they want and compensation. TB would then be in a better position to get CJ.

Question? If the Raiders were set on getting a QB so they could take CJ I wonder why they didn't make a charge for David Carr?

I mean trade for Daunte instead. Why would they do that? Just doesn't seem logical but I hope it happens.

Wouldn't it be amazing to trade with the raiders C-pepp, our 9th and 60th for their #1 and another pick (4th or so) and we trade that to the bucs for their 4th and something

I play a lot of Madden but that would be great....we could end up with thomas, russel quinn....

Obviously the Lions are trying to keep McNown alway from the Raiders in an attempt to snag Calvin Johnson. Apparently the deal that was rumored a couple days ago will go on if and only if the Calvin Johnson is there at # 2. In my opinion I hope Al Davis snags Calvin Johnson just to piss of Tampa.

Carr was schedule to meet with the Raiders. The only thing is the he wanted to sign with Carolina.
