Raiders to cut Wimbley

League sources tell NFL Network's Jason La Canfora that the Raiders will formally announce the release of OLB Kam Wimbley on Tuesday.
Kevin Boss' release actually hasn't been formally announced yet. Per La Canfora, Boss and Wimbley's releases will be announced together. Wimbley will hit the market as a 28-year-old pass rusher with 16 sacks over the past two seasons and versatility to fit both a 3-4 defense as a linebacker and a 4-3 scheme as a defensive end. Wimbley would be an awfully nice fallback plan for teams that miss out on top free agent pass rusher Mario Williams. Mar 12 - 8:55 PM
