Raiders want Veteran QB to tutor Russell

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the Raiders would like to have a veteran quarterback in place before drafting JaMarcus Russell.

Hence the Josh McCown rumors. The idea is they'd get McCown, then draft Russell and "redshirt" him for one season. Everyone seems to assume Russell will be going to the Raiders with the first overall pick

I hope we offer them Culpepper draft day if they dont trade for McCown.....

All in all it probably will be Russell who goes #1 and the Quinn dream will be crushed.
