Hey everyone,

I'm going to be taking in the Fins and Bills game with my 2 buddies (one is a Bills fan the other is indifferent) and I'm wondering if any of you can give me some feedback on seat selection? Any spots to avoid? Are sight lines pretty good everywhere? Tickets look pretty cheap so I was thinking of trying to get near mid field in the 100 level, but I'm not sure if they will be sold out from season ticket holders, etc.

Any advice you can share from your visits to Buffalo would be greatly appreciated.

GO FINS!!!!!

i live in buffalo and try to go to the dolphins game every year.be careful what you decide to wear this is a blue collar town. the fans get drunk fast even before they go into the Ralph.(not all the fans but a crap load of them) if you can get tickets at the 50 yard line as close to the field you can.because the higher you go up the more crazy the experience will get.its a wild ride if you go sporting any other teams jersey.n worst of all dont tell anyone your a dolphins fan before, during or after tge game.wait to you get home to announce it :)good luck n lots of fum

Also from the Buffalo area, and haven't missed a game here since I was 7 lol the fans are obnoxious. They will be hammered the night before and they will not be shy to try and argue with you. I've noticed the lot of um have gotten worse as the years went on. Most turn up for the drinking. I had 3 last year tell me Steve Norwood missed the field goal against the Giants while they didn't know who Frank Reich is. I know and I'm 22. Anyways I seem to be a magnet for assholes sitting in my section trying to start with me. I try to not get into anything to avoid trouble.

Anyways, I'm not going to make this sound terrible anymore lol it is crazy. Tailgating is amazing (one of the best in the NFL) and there are a ton of Miami faithful that always go to the game. (I myself will be getting a bus together this year). It really is a fun time and being it is Buffalo's home opener it will be crazy. Thank the good lord or whatever this game isn''t late in the year like the past two have been. Just don't go looking for trouble, drink up and enjoy the game. It is fun and it is even better when we win there. The fans shut up real quick. See ya there brother!

I have never been there but I would say for seat selection I would avoid any place you are close enough to Bills fans to smell them. As for sight lines, again, anywhere you cannot see a Bills fan is a good seat. No point in unnecessarily vomiting up your $10 hotdog.

That's about what I expected on the fan experience side of things, ha ha. I'm going to try and get as close to the field as possible and I don't really plan on wearing any Fins gear and I definitely won't be obnoxious. I don't need to be trying to get back to a Canadian hospital with a knife in my torso, LOL.

Just looking to have a great time at the game and to enjoy ourselves. No problem at all with friendly banter and stuff like that. I'll save the screaming Fin support for the next trip to Miami :)

Whatever you decide, it would probably not be wise to fall off the upper deck and land on someone below.

A Buffalo Bills fan who fell from the upper deck of Ralph Wilson Stadium and injured another spectator last year was found guilty of assault and reckless endangerment Tuesday after a six-member jury deliberated for about 20 minutes.

The Orchard Park Town Court jury found Robert Hopkins of Buffalo guilty of both counts against him — third-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment — following a three-day trial. He could face up to a year in jail when he's sentenced on Sept. 11.

Stadium video surveillance revealed that Hopkins, 29, slid partway down a railing and climbed back up to his seat several times before falling backward on his fifth slide. He tumbled 20 to 25 feet and landed on Mark Bratcher, injuring the man's head, neck and back.

Hopkins was not seriously hurt. But after the incident during the Nov. 17 Bills-New York Jets game, he lost his job in advertising and public relations and was banned from the stadium.

Rock your gear proudly bro. I always deck out in my fins gear. Just know when you do you are painting a target on you. I like having that target cause some people think you have big ones for wearing dolphins gear there although it's no big deal. You will have a good time, I'll hit you up closer to the game where I will be tailgating. Always welcome other fin fans at the game.

Someone said that he went up and down the rail 8 or 9 times today on the news. Also if he landed two inches forwards, the guy he landed on would have died. Such an idiot that guy is.

This thread is an interesting read, one of the quirks of the nfl ive always noticed and been interested by is how the fans are mixed in such a competitive sport. An Unthinkable concept at least in uk soccer leagues... it would lead to no end of trouble,

I wonder does mixing fans have a good or bad impact on the stadium atmosphere? Ive found it interesting the fins fans at jets games always seem to book together and the noise they make is very noticeable as a result

the ralph is the biggest s---hole on earth. it is infested with piss, puke, and stale beer. good for you, the weather shouldn't be bad as we play them up there week 2.

i've gone to countless games there - if you really want to have a good time, then find a local chapter of a dolphins fan club or something that gets tickets in bulk. then you can be surrounded by good people. otherwise, as others have pointed out, it is a feeding frenzy of drunken, inferior peasants looking for a fight.

week one a few years ago, i had people walk up to me, get right in my face, slobber their stink breath and spit all over me, and call me things i could never repeat. the crazy thing is that they usually will go to the extreme edge but don't make it physical. they let you shove them away, which gives them the right to get physical back. just keep walking, keep your head held high, and show them you have brass balls.

I went to last year's debacle in Buffalo with my girlfriend and I still can't get that stupid buffalo chant out of my head

I catch a Bills game every year since my family lives in and around that area and we get a large group going, usually about 45 of us. I am the only Fin Fan in the group but there are other teams represented as well: Bears, Giants, Jets, Panthers and Jags. It is always a great time. Tailgating there is fantastic and even in the lots, most fans will cuss like mad, but nothing physical happens unless you start it. In the stadium, the higher up you go, the worst the abuse. but again it is usually just verbal and I always feel bad for those dads who have brought their little ones with them. The language used by the drunkards around those kids is beyond pathetic, but I assume that happens every where. As another poster said, if the Fins get a good lead, those fans will shut up. and I have found that when they do ride on you, I just mention '72 and hey all seem to know what that represents and it quiets them down. if you find you have a really unruly one, just ask them to compare Super Bowl records.

and this year might I suggest mentioning Jim Kelly in a good way. I am sure that will get you places there.

have fun at the game., wish I was at that one, but our stupid group is doing the Bills/Vikes instead. arrgghhh!!!!

I also went with my GF and we laid an egg. A win would've put us in the playoffs! Still pissed about that especially in the rain but this year it should be pretty good in early September. I was in section 111 (behind Phins sideleine)
I got tickets to go again once the schedule got released got a nice pair in section 112. Tickets are getting up in price cause its their home opener and I bet it will get rowdy

My wife grew up in Orchard Park and we take in a game from time to time. Its a real lively bunch at the Ralph! They open the lots on Friday night so literally people tailgate all weekend. I have never seen more drunk idiots in my entire life. I always wear my gear and was surprised how many other Phins fans there were. I sat in the lower corner and had a great view of the game, seats are very close to the field. There was lots of heckling but most of the time it was all good fun! Avoid the bathrooms at the half or in between quarters (thats when the really bad heckling begins). Buffalo has some great bars around the stadium, check out the Big Tree if you have time. Avoid the upper bowl at all costs!
