I live in STL and took a lot of crap from my friends that are Rams fans when Long choose them over us. I told them he has been on the decline the past two years because all of the injuries finally caught up to Jake. Many did not believe me and thought they were getting a pro bowl caliber left tackle -- must be that Fisher/Snead kool-aid. I am laughing at them as I type this right now.

Also, here are some quotes taking from a Rams forum:

"He looks like manure. He has looked like manure since preseason. There was a reason the Dolphins didn't want him back."

"Jack Long will go down as the worst FA signing ever."

"Didn't like the signing when they did it and I REALLY don't like it now. The guy has nothing left."

"He sucked tonight. And last week."

"He's looking very diminished so far."

"He might be one of the worst FA signing s ever for the money and his production. That's a long list to be at the top of."

I would guess Rams fans are ragging on pretty much the entire team and front office, what a total **** show that was.

Keep in mind the Dolphins offered him a contract to stay. Thankfully he went to St Louis.

Bradford looks & plays like monkey feces.

Then again what do you expect, look at who their OC is. :chuckle:

That was ONE sweet run by Gore right before half time. I couldn't help but think that Sturgis would have made that crazy fockN Kick.

They thought surrounding him by that much corn would rejuvenate him, the way Superman is energized by the sun.

But now it's time to put him out to pasture. I'm sure he and his wife will have a whole litter of injury prone kids.

The left guard for the Rams is even worse, so their whole blindside is a disaster. Jake is barely able to hang in there and can't help out his guard, so the defenses are just pouring through.

We made a good call on Jake, just not convinced we made a great call on the right side of our line.

Compared to who, the guy who drafted Jake Long #1 overall? Oh, wait....
Seeing how we got some pro bowl years out of him and then didnt resign him to a huge contract I would say yeah Jeff Ireland corrected himself in a big way.

I'm a fan of correcting errors but I'm an even bigger fan of not making errors in the first place.

Parcel was in charge of that draft

There's no need for this to become another Jeff Ireland thread but two things. First off, Jeff Ireland had full say over personnel written into his contract. That's a specific provision that carries huge significance. Secondly, Ireland said he wanted Long. Had him as his #1 overall prospect for a long time heading into that draft. If anyone was hesitant to pick him, it was Bill Parcells, who waffled between the two Longs and especially Ryan for a long time.

If you can find a shred of evidence to suggest that Ireland wanted someone other than Jake Long in that draft, please post it. But you won't find it.

if you can find evidence of the writing in Ireland's contract id love to see it, IMHO tuna was 100% In charge here in Miami. And more so his first year here

So what you're saying is he didn't come in as smart as he is today. I guess that's pretty common. It sure as hell has happened to me at every job I've ever had.

You may be a fan of perfection from day one. I'm a big fan of people that can learn from their mistakes.
