Chris Long counted $14.25 million against the cap so I can see why. He's nowhere near the player he was in 2011 but I wouldn't mind bringing him in. I'm more interested in Laurinaitis, hes a damn good tackler and reliable as hell

Of Chris Long, Jared Cook and James Laurinaitis, only Long is actually any good and his reputation overstates his quality.

Someone is gonna sign Laurinaitis and think they're getting a poor man's Bobby Wagner when they're really getting Paul Worrilow 2.0

Need stop on 3rd-and-12? Laurinaitis will get it six yards downfield. Need a stop on 3rd-and-2, Laurinaitis will get it six yards downfield.
For what it's worth, everything I read on the twitter-sphere was not exactly a ringing endorsement for Laurinatus....and PFF had him graded 58th out of 59 ILB in 2015....
Being here in STL and having to be forced to watch that team, I will say this: it was than just financial reasons why they were released -- they all suck. I would not touch anyone of these players with a ten foot pole. Remember during the 2013 off-season when Ireland was running the show, it came down to the Rams and Fins for Jared Cook. Thank goodness he chose the Rams. If he would of chose Miami, that just would of been another Ireland FA doozy along with Wheeler and Ellerbe.
I'd only bring in Cook, not as a key guy, but part of the TE rotation. Long and Laurinaitis are overhyped ball players. I'd take Shelby over Long at this point.

I'd stay away from all 3. Their names and reputations make them sound like fits but if they were worth the money the Rams would not have released them but restructured them
