According to the above ESPN article, the Redskins are trying to trade Ramsey... assuming that the new CBA doesnt get done and Miami doesnt have the cap room to go after Brees, Culpepper, or another high profile QB, what do you guys think of getting P. Ramsey from the Skins... because he hasnt played very much in the past year and half or so, Ramsey should come at a low draft picks cost and he is still young and cheap with a big arm... his decision making has always been in question, but with our good coaching and a line in front of him that is better than the one he played behind in Washington, I think the kid might have what we are looking for... he was always criticized for not making all the short passes, but technique can be worked on... he has a cannon of an arm and I wouldnt mind seeing him in Aqua&Orange for the right price, and if (and only if) we couldnt pick up Culpepper or Brees...:dolphins:

I wouldn't necessarily agree our line is/will be better than Washington's, and Joe Gibbs is one of the best coaches in NFL history with a quality staff with him, so I don't see coaching making much, if any, difference.

Perhaps he has upside still, but I don't see him as being all that much of an improvement over Frerotte.

I am all for whoever can get the job done - Free agent, draft, walk-on or miracle acquisition. :goof:

you can't compare those things to the Skins of today, but to the Skins under Steve Spurrier. Ramsey got lost in the shuffle once Gibbs got there and hasn't seen the field.

Yes, the Dolphins have better pass protection than the Spurrie skins did.......not necessarily because of personel, but because of scheme. And comparing Saban and his staff to Spurrier is an insult.

I have to definitely agree with you one this one... I appologize for the confusion above... I was referring to the crap Ramsey went through under Spurrier and Gibbs first year in the NFL (which I think we can all agree was a rough one)...Ramsey is also in a bit of sh*t mentality because of having been yanked so many times and replaced... he needs a leader like Saban to put confidence back into his step and I'd bet he would be pretty d*mn good...

I would be dissapointed if we do go after him because of all of these higher profile QB's that will be a FA.

It's better to just save the pick and spend more money in FA. I don't see how the Fins wouldn't have enough money however if Brees is their #1 priority. Sure other teams can offer exorbitant salaries, but Brees said he wants to be a champion and Miami is a far better team than the Raiders and Lions.

My order of QB wants goes Brees, Ramsey, Culpepper. Consider Cutler top overall though it looks less and less like that could happen...

I say forget about him, I know I already have. If he cant get the job done in Washington, then he sure can't get the job done in Miami. I'd rather let Gus lead the way for us than him
