I was reading an article on Sun-Sentinel's website about the Steelers, and it said the following:

"Next, they have to find the money to keep three key unrestricted free agents -- defensive ends Brett Keisel and Kimo von Oelhoffen and the multi-faceted wide receiver Randle El, who could be bound for the Dolphins.

Randle El was a great favorite of the Dolphins' new offensive coordinator, Mike Mularkey, when Mularkey ran Cowher's offense from 2001-03. He's also the sort of versatile talent that Dolphins coach Nick Saban admires."

Hmm... that would be a pretty sweet receiving core: Chambers, Booker, Welker and Randle El....

Personally, I don't think it would be a huge upgrade over what we currently have, but having another threat is never a bad idea...

It would be a huge upgrade, although if that happens then Welker would probably fall to #4 and lose return duties. Randle El might even crack the #2 spot.

That's the key though.

What happens to Welker?

I mean El is more versatile and a better weapon then welker no doubt. I really liked Welker.

I just don't see what Welker's role would be if El comes here.

But then again there is Thompson and Gilmore and we all know Welker is an upgrade over Thompson for sure and Gilmore is debatable.

He'd be an upgrade to Welker as #3, but would never beat out MB or CC. Personally, I'd rather spend the money on a better OL, QB, S, CB, LB or DT before WR.

The big rumor is Randle El going to the Bears. He is from there and has also said he would love to start playing baseball again so he can play CF for the cubs (I'm sure that's a joke). But the Bears would be the # 1 choice right now.

Depends on how much he wants. You upgrade where you can, and where the value is.

If we sign Randle El Booker is gone unless he takes a pretty big pay cut.

Is Thompson on the team(Did we cut him or was he on PS all year?). Anyway, I think Welker will actually get more time next season as a WR even if Randle El comes here because Mularkey seems to be an OC who would love a Wayne Chebret kind of oddball threat in addition to a trick player like Randle El.

yep, but the signing of Randle El would solidify our reciever position.

Randel El isn't much more than a mediocre receiver good with those trick plays. He is going to want much more money than he is actually worth, I don't think Miami should go for him. Though I admit I am biased cause I hate those gadget plays.

I'm not sure I would say mediocre, but definately not a great receiver. He will want more money than he's worth, no doubt, and we have other needs to fill.

RANDLE IS OUR NEXT QB
LOL
LOL
LOL
WE CAN RUN THAT FAKE AND HAVE HIM THROW THE BALL 40 yds TO CHAMBERS
