With 27 receptions (and 337 yds), he is 31st in the league. Which doesn't sound that great really, but here are a few things to compare that to:

Randy Moss: 25, 369
Plaxico: 25, 341
TO: 25, 398
Lee Evans: 24, 521 (damn)
Chad Johnson: 27, 268
Steve Smith: 26, 254
Torry Holt: 23, 261
Marvin Harrison: 22, 258
Braylon Edwards: 20, 307

#64- Ted Ginn: 20, 177

I'm not saying Cam is better than any of those guys, because well... But either way, I think it's pretty cool that he has more receptions than them so far, maybe not yardage on them all. And I just thought I'd throw Ginn's in there too, to show he's not that far off in receptions from some of those guys.

He has made it perfectly (Greg Camarillo) but what I fear most is this here:
Lee Evans: 24, 521 (damn)
He has really get a good season going, although the thread now is not about him, then we have to be a little impressed about him.

This pretty much spells what Penny is capable of and more importantly not capable of.

If someone could get him the ball on his deep routes, it would be better.

That may be true to a degree but many receivers with weak armed qb's are scoring and averaging over 10 yards a catch. if our Te's can and Camirillo can why not Ginn. Ginn has to get some blame on this.

Camarillo is not a speed guy, he is a Welker type guy that has to rely on route running and timing to be productive. Ginn is a burner, who is not a possesion receiver but has a God given abililty in his speed and ability to hit an elite gear if given the ball in the open. Unfortuneately for Ginn and us, the QB can't or won't get the ball to him in order to take advantage of it. The head coach has said on numerous occasions Ginn is getting open and doesn't know why he isn't getting the ball. I can take a wild guess on that one.

Those are good numbers for sure, particularly for a struggling team with a new coach, several new players including a new LG and rookie LT as well as a new QB. But, the season is young and Pennington is known for accurate short passes, so you'd expect the slot receiver and TE's to do well. Let's see how the season unfolds, but I think we can all call Greg Camarillo a pleasant surpise.

If Pennington doesn't start pulling the trigger on some long throws to Ginn, we may see our passing game clamped down on the short stuff and more defenders stacking the line of scrimage against our run. The one knock on Pennington is that he doesn't use the deep ball enough, so if Ginn's average per catch doesn't start going up, I suspect that you'll start seeing Camarillo's number of catches per game start to decline.

Not bad really. But I wouldn't call him Cam. The last Cam we had was total joke.
