The OL made great advances in pass protection this week, but what was up with the run blocking? Barry Sanders couldn't have run effectively behind that....
Ronnie is magical with the ball in open space, and once he gets up a head of steam anyone in his path is going to pay the price. If the line can start run blocking, watch out.
Culpepper is coming along nicely...but he needs a running game to help take the pressure off.
This receiver core has been seriously underrated...we just never knew it because we never had a QB capable of highlighting it.
Randy McMichael should have his best year yet...he seems more driven...even in preseason.
Wes Welker is clutch. He was last year, he is again. This guy is smart and deadly fast with great concentration. He is our 3rd WR.
DL is getting old??? I don't think the Panthers would agree. Strongest unit on the field.
Secondary...shakey but improving. They played very well last night.
Joey Harrington. This guy is really coming on, and it is helping his attitude tremendously. I am comfortable with this guy if Duante goes down, and if he continues to improve, he might even be our next starter. This may be as significant an off season pick up as Culpepper was.
Special Teams...phoned it in on this one...terrible performance.
Gibson and Russel...that's great depth right there. Don't know if one will get cut, but I would keep Gibson.
Matt Roth. Finally a break out performance! He can be a true force if he continues to develop.
Marcus Vick...we hardly knew ye....practice squad?
Hagan...expected more from this guy based on the hype. Gotta find ways to get open without OPI.
Will Allen...making steady improvement. Did you see that deep pass he defended...beautiful
Jason Allan. Still making rookie mistakes, but nothing nearly as glaring last night. This is why you should never hold out in training camp....still last night gives more hope.
Offense...time of possession is important, but needs to result in points. This will come with more time, though, and there is much reason for optimism.
Overall, the Panthers are no slouch...this was a good showing. Bring on the Steelers.......
