I think..
- The Trifecta is doing a good job for one. Parcells and Ireland have proven that they haven't lost their drafting abilities. 8 picks, 1 is a starter (Long), 3 are competing for starting jobs (Henne, Thomas, Langford), and another potential starter in Merling. (We also traded a pick for what looks to be our best TE since McMichael)
- The QB situation is officially John Beck's to lose. It seems as though The Trifecta is doing everything in it's power to make Beck become successful. Any other time Henne would've taken a death grip on atleast the #2 spot. I'm anxious to see how Henne/Beck does in live action.
- We need to sign a veteran WR, preferably Glenn. I don't care that his knees are "shot", because so were Joe Namath's when he won the Super Bowl. We need Glenn so badly because the guy we brought in to be the veteran (Wilford) has been struggling mightily ever since camp started. If anyone is going to help him get his mind right, it will be another veteran WR. Also, I'm really pulling for us not to drop Davone Bess or Jayson Foster, running with 6th WRs wouldn't hurt us that bad. We need Bess because it's only a matter of time until he starts making plays, and we need Foster because it could possibly give us the scariest duo of Kick Returners in the league (Ginn/Foster).
- The Defense is looking good, or so I've read. I'm not sure whether that's just them feasting on a struggling Offense or if they're really that good, I think it's a little bit of both. Lehan/Allen are pleasant suprises, I've also heard Nathan Jones is getting some pretty rave reviews. Jason Allen finally lived up to some of the hype last year and I think he's only going to do better with Yeremiah Bell at his side. Our run defense looks like it's going to be alot better than last year, now that we actually have young guys who can run down Runningbacks.
- This season may be a pleasant suprise following a 1-15 season. I know we have a young team, but if they charge head-on into the season like they have Training Camp, we might be talking Playoffs this year.
Go Fins!
