Randy has Final say, and Capers signs his extension!

...and so it begins. The pieces are beginning to fall into place. Mueller. Cameron. Capers. Houck.

I find it interesting that Gailey removed his name from consideration. Does that mean Cameron was selected by default?

At a 4:30 p.m. news conference at Georgia Tech, Gailey, who was under a time constraint because of the recruiting period, said he removed his name from consideration before the Dolphins called with their coaching decision.

Bro I think he did this after the Dolphins Management made it known that Cameron was there choice. Chan had to be very careful because he is in the middle of Recruiting, so he had to make the decision as soon as he could.

I think Capers signed his extension after coming to the realization that no one was knocking down his door to be a head coach. It's a tough thing to accept, but that's the way of the football world. I give him all the credit in the world, he produced a DPOY, and sent two members of the team to the probowl with his schemes. Saban may have installed the defense, but the players and Capers ran it to top 5 status in the NFL. That's with teams like the Ravens and Chicago in the mix. I'm infinitely glad he signed.

Insofar as the head coach is concerned, I'll support whomever they choose. I supported Saban up until he left, because the head coach deserves the time and opportunity to install players and a system they're comfortable with. That being said however, the new HC has to prove himself. He has to win games, he has to resolve personnel issues, and he has to inspire confidence with leadership. Saban wouldn't let us, the fans, think that he wasn't going to win - but he did it from a position born of insecurity, not of confidence. It's a good thing the Dolphins have left no stone unturned in their search for a new head coach, and the beneficaries will be us, the fans.

You know, I realize that article says that, but when I listened to Wayne be interviewed on 790 after the presser, he made a comment like this:

"Randy will run the personnel side, Cam will run the football side, and they will both report to me thru Bryan Wiedmeir, if there is something they have a disagreement on, Bryan would step in to settle it."

Doesn't that kind of sound like, if they were to disagree on who to take with the ninth pick, for example, that Bryan would break the tie?

And if thats so, Randy doesn't really have final say, does he?

I think Randy will have final say bro, and this is his baby in the draft. I think he will take Cam's opinions, and recommendations. Bryan will over see both Randy, and Cam. Let's see what Randy can do this draft.

Man, I'm just telling you what I heard come out of Huizenga's mouth last night, do you really think it meant nothing?

I'm really glad Capers is staying. Even before he came here had proven to be an excellent DC. When you have a head coach who will be spending a lot of his time with the offense, I think it's really important to have a highly qualified DC. This should be a smooth transition for the defense, while the offense has a chance to make some great strides, if Mueller makes the right personel decisions. I'm optimistic. Looking forward to the 9th pick in the draft.
