The free agent Randy Hymes which have 4 years of experience have showed that he have a lot of talent catching the ball, specially deep balls, he didn't play a lot in Baltimore, but when he played, he made great catches...

Now he is a free agent and he might be very cheap, he could be a perfect fit catching Daunte's deep balls...

What do you think???

If he comes cheap I think he would be a great addition for depth. It would be interesting to see if he could make the team or climb the depth chart given a decent chance.

Hymes has made some pretty decent highlight catches......but that's about it.

He has never proven to be a consistent deep threat.....his career ypc is 13.4 and he only has 6 20+ yard catches and 1 40+ yard catch over the last 2 years. He is no better than Welker or Campbell (KC's career ypc is 18.6, THAT'S a deep threat :) ).....and I would give Fred Gibson a good chance of being as good or better.

You are right, but how many times have you seen Boller throwing passes at him (not a lot more than his catches) or at least playing, thats why he is inconsistent... HE DOESNT PLAY, Brian Billick didnt give him the chance to play!!!, thats why!!!

I'd rather a combination of Welker/Campbell be our 3rd reciever, plus I'm hoping for a high draft pick on the offensive side.

Is he fast? Was his lack of long balls his fault or the QB's?

No, he is fast, thats why he is a great deep balls catcher, the problem is that Brian Billick didnt give him the opportunity to play even as the #3 starter WR even when he made great catches in 1 or 2 passes attempts per game...

Yes, I'd rather that 2, but Hymes might be a good fit...

I don't know if you can say Hymes is a perfect fit for the #3 WR spot. He was a QB in college and is still learning the position. It could be interesting if we bring him in for training camp to see what he can do.

So what?, Antwaan Randle El was a QB in college and was a perfect fit for #2 WR at Pittsburgh, but if he comes to training camp, yes, that would be intresting...

I think there's a place on the roster for a Randy Hymes, unfortunately I just think that Kelly Campbell currently occupies that place on our roster...

QB's in College usually turn out gret in the NFL as WR's

That's true, but don't get previous disapointments from Campbell, he will do great..., or at least hope so... :dolphins:
