Hello again all: :dolphins:

Check out this statement from Randy Mc Michael.

"(While) everybody is on vacation and stuff, I was here watching film, lifting weights and running, getting myself ready to have not only a breakout season but the best season a tight end has ever had here for the Dolphins."

-- TE Randy Mc Michael

Now I like Randy Mc Michael a lot and he is one of my fav players. However, I think he might be setting the bar a bit high.

Randy already holds the team's single-season receiving records for tight ends. He caught 73 catches for 791 yards back in 2004.

Do you think Mc Michael could be the best Miami TE ever???

We've had some amazing players play at that position over the years. Keith Jackson and Keith Byars come to mind right off the top of my head. IMHO, Randy has a long way to go before he can ever be put in the same category as those two. I wish him luck and I hope he has a breakout probowl season....

What do you guys think? Who is the greatest Miami TE ever and how does Mc Michael stack up to them?

Sound off....

Personally, I think he already is the most talented TE the Fins have ever had. Wasn't Byars a fullback??

If he can keep up what he's been doing, he'll EASILY be the best TE we've ever had.

But what has he done for you to make such an assumption? He consistently diminishes as the season wears on. And he has never made the probowl. Until he steps his game up, I can't place him in the same company as the others.

He actually played both positions with our team.

he's all hype

I dont't know about him being all 'hype." Randy has a lot of talent. And with Culpepper throwing passes to him this year, he should have a great season.

But I am very skeptical about "best ever" season.

Byars only played TE because we had no one to fill the void. He was never a TE in my mind, just a really good displaced Fullback.

Given that, Randy has yet to live up to Keith Jackson, not too far behind, but not quite there yet. KJ never dropped as many passes as Randy. KJ's problem was that he always stretched for that extra yard and fumbled the ball. Remember that Buffalo game:boohoo:

i defnitely fgeel all the players are coming in with this attitude this season with the things that nick saban has done for them

Keith Byars is more of an H-Back type player where you can line him up in the backfield or as a tight end. I guess he was one of the best tight end we've ever had but seems like he did alot better when he was in NE. I think he played for the Jets too. Mcmike has all the tools to be a great tight end in the NFL.

If you look at the #s, he's already the best TE in Dolphins history. That doesn't mean that there's not room for improvement though. I think he'll have a huge year if he doesn't have to stay home and block as much as last year. He started of on fire, then he had to handle more of the load blocking. Once the line improved later in the year, his #s jumped again.
