The Miami Herald believes Dolphins DT Randy Starks' roster spot for 2015 is "in serious question."

Starks inked a two-year, $12 million deal in March and carries a $6 million cap hit next season, $5 million of which can be saved by Miami if it cuts the soon-to-be 31-year-old. Starks' play has tailed off in 2014, as he's been gashed in the run game and has seen his snaps reduced. Starks can still rush the passer.

Thoughts? What should we do with our D line?

Draft one in the second round and, or, maybe sign one in free agency.

Miami has no cap room for Odrick's 50 million plus contract he will want either...

Have to take the cap savings in this situation. Starks has been nearly invisible. Question is who can you find to fill in. We only have so many draft picks, the DT class in the draft is decent at the top but there's a pretty big drop off after the first 4 or 5 guys and I wouldn't spend a high draft pick on the position.

not a surprise...id like to see this team spend some money on a beast dt...suh if he shakes free...i'd let odrick and starks both walk if we signed him and added a plugger dt...and if we cut bait with guys making money we dont need we could afford it

ideally i'd keep odrick also but not at any $50 mil contract price tag...he's not that level guy...too inconsistent

I saw the Jets game again, specifically the DL, and yes you have to wonder if this guy is worth it anymore. He was getting doubled a lot plays, but there were many plays where he couldnt move a single blocker, and this guy is supposed to be the one of the strongest guys on our team. DT is definitely on our watch list for the draft and free agency.

Wow..... slow down.

What has Odrick done that he gets a $50 deal.

Hell, he better expect something similar to what Mitchell got maybe a little more. (4 / $20 / $10 guaranteed) or something like that.

I wouldn't spend a 2nd round pick on a DT. It's not as pressing as CB, RB, OG or WR IMO. We clearly need a big bodied WR for the red zone as much as we've struggled there. We have Miller at RB and nothing else...Daniel Thomas isn't doing anything and they clearly don't trust Damien Williams enough yet. CB on this team is paper thin and even if they were all healthy only Grimes, Finnegan and Taylor are worth the roster spot...Will Davis is not very good. OG is also a no brainer although I wouldn't even think about drafting an OG until the 3rd round.

I don't follow your logic if there are only 5-6 guys in the draft, (And I agree with you here) why wouldn't you draft one of these 5-6 guys in the top of the draft?
They could be all gone if you don't strike?

However if I was GM I wouldn't do it either. LOL

For the record I like

Devin Funchess Jr Michigan WR/TE 1

Josue Matias Sr Florida State OG 2 or Tre' Jackson Sr Florida State OG 2

Todd Gurley, RB, (Knee injury he may drop) Georgia or Jay Ajayi rJr Boise State RB 3

skip tha draft first 2 days ...too risky with dts...takes a while to get return anyways...go all in for suh in free agency...make it your one splash...draft your other needs ie wr to replace hartline cb to compete mike lb...they are this teams current needs...another rb should be in the mix also but you can get that many ways and the scheme helps them look better than they really are...

tight end is a need also but this class doesnt offer much of what we need...

How much does Suh command?

And do you want the toxic that comes with him?

Dude is one head stomp away from a year suspension.

i want that animal to pair with my de's and wreck people...if he wasnt risky we'd never sniff him in free agency cause he would never hit...if he does i'd back up a brinks truck to his door...i think the reputation stuff is overblown anyways...

So 6 Year / $100 / $51 Guaranteed would be the starting point.

He likely wants McCoy numbers.

Suh is also likely to garner interest from half the league, regardless of his antics.
