screw it changed my mind again. Just cut Patterson and his always injured azz and give his money to Cromartie.

I would be looking at Verner, Shields, and the SF guy over Cromarte.

Iwould actually take Vontae over anybody on that list but it wont happen due to past and Indy is not going to let him go. Im not a big fan of Shileds

I don't think we get Verner because he will want really good money. Now if we don't resign Grimes Im sure he would be an option.
I chose Cromartie based on what I figure he would cost. Shields is no worth the money to me

Verner would be my choice. At 25, you could spread out his contract for 5 years on a signing bonus.

Still I think he would want like at least 7 million a year prob more. Like I said if we want Grimes I doubt we can spend on him and Verner.
 
Grimes and Cromartie would be a decent secondary. How many kids does Cro have now? lol
 
If you cant get an agreement with Grimes (most likely due to term) a guy like Verner who the titans have said will test FA you can go get him. Grimes would be looking at 2-3 year but may want something like 5. You may not want that unless the cap is really low the later years if his play declines. You can probably give Verner that long term deal with him only being 25.

Verner isnt really that much of a downgrade from Grimes but grimes is still the #1 guy
 
Shields is a very good CB dlockz, but he will be expensive. He is very solid though, I think you're a little to down on him.

And I actually expect Cromartie to want $7mil/year - not that he'll get it, but I think he'll want more than $5mil/year. I'd be okay with cutting Patterson and giving that money to Cro, it would be a solid move for us.

I was thinking of Verner in place of Grimes.

NFL, NOT PFF, actually has Verner rated higher than Grimes. He had 5 picks, 14 passes defended, gave up 49% completions and 2 TD's.

Grimes had 4 picks, 14 PD's, gave up 60% completions, and 0 TD's. Not much difference, and a 25 year old vs a 31 year old, and likely a little cheaper.
