Rapid Reaction: Ten thoughts from Dolphins vs. Buccaneers game

I haven't heard the "hate for Gibson" you are referring to. I have heard some questions his making the team because they were not sure he was back from his injury or that he may be "injury prone", but I really haven't heard anyone argue that he isn't any good...

Missed 3 games in the 48 prior to coming to Miami.

He's not injury prone.

I don't think there is much doubt that the top 5 WR are Wallace, Hartline, Landry, Gibson and Matthews, any articles or rumors otherwise is nothing more then writers trying to get a few extra clicks....the only question is whether the team keeps 6...

It will be interesting to see Clay in the offense as it seems to take good advantage of his skill set. Him on the field with Landry, Gibson and Matthews, gives the phins 4 very tough guys who will fight for the ball and gain rac.

As far as the OP....nice write up, not a whole lot I disagree with....I didn't watch the second half, but was a little disappointed that Tripp didn't get any run with the ones as it was alluded to all week.

Nobody sane ever thought our best reciever last year (Gibson) would actually be cut

I was trying to come up with reasons why someone would have had "hate" for Gibson. That is all I could come up with. Quite frankly, I have never heard this "hate for Gibson", so I don't even know where the hell this came from. The other poster I was responding to must have had an issue with someone and then painted a "broad brush" of there being a bunch of people who don't want Gibson so make the team. In reality, I haven't heard of a single person this year not wanting Gibson back, so I am not sure why he even brought it up.

9. I have confidence the offense will score when they have the ball
For the past several years, even when the Dolphins had Tony Sparano as head coach, there was much doubt if they would score whenever the offense had the ball. When the team had the ball deep in their own territory or even on the other side of the field, no one knew what to expect and no one knew if the playcalling would be conservative or not. Now, under Bill Lazor, I have confidence that the offense will score every time they have the ball. The playcalling is unique, effective and makes sense. The pass protection is great and Tannehill gets the ball out of his hands pretty quickly the majority of the time. This offense can be one of the better ones in the NFL as the chemistry develops so keep an eye on the improvement over the next two weeks heading into the first week of the season.

Since Dan, the only other time I have felt this confident that we can drive the field every time we have the ball was only once....when Pennington took us to the AFC East title. I am very confident that Fields won't punt nearly as much this season. Very nice feeling to have for a change.

Really? We were 21st in scoring in 2008 and outside of two games where we scored 38, our offense was an anemic mess.

You're not filling me with confidence here.

Notice I said drive the field.....didn't say anything about the scoring we put up that season. It was just nothing like the 3 and out fiasco we have had to put up with during Sherman's stint. :err:

Until Landry hopefully proves me wrong, Gibson is the best, most reliable, most courageous and clutch receiver on the roster! If Belicheat thought he was in danger of being cut, he'd be salivating like one of Dr Pavlov's dogs - and rightfully so.

Will davis is playing better than Taylor.

Billy Turner needs to be the RG.

I was just going to say this Will Davis is balling. He is reading plays perfectly and having several near INTs
