Per Rotoworld: NFL Network's Ian Rapoport believes OT Jonathan Martin could return to the Dolphins in 2014.
Conventional wisdom had been the Dolphins would cut Martin, but Rapoport said Martin's camp and Miami have been in contact over the last several weeks. Martin returning to the team he abandoned in the middle of the season would require the rebuilding of several charred bridges, but we have seen stranger things happen in the NFL.

Is this guy serious? I'd go insane.

Well in reality of the oline will be gone. At this point im tired of the saga

Not going to happen. Who do u believe, the owner who said he's gone or Rappaport who made no sense? Seriously? Martin is GONE. We may hold on to him to get some trade value for a bit, but he'll never be here come mini-camp.

Read this early, but still can't imagine a scenario where this happens....although stranger things have happened here.

There is absolutely LESS THAN ZERO chance of this happening, I guarantee it. Is the offseason over yet? Oh, it just began? **** ME I HATE THE OFFSEASON

This sounds like Hickey and Miami trying to salvage something out of this even if its a conditional 7th rounder. Everyone thinks that Martin is gone so if Miami puts it out there that they're willing to let him back and work this out then if a team actually does want Martin they can't just wait for his release, they'll have to fork over a pick. To me it's not worth it. Martin has little to no value right now and no way you let him come back. This just opens up Miami fir more scrutiny from the media, players may start publicly questioning things etc. To me the risk isn't worth the reward

In today's PC world, they may be afraid to let him go or cut him because of a possible lawsuit...

lol Id love to see the lawyer who would take on that case. Not even Martin's mom who has demonstrated a serious lapse in judgment would yank the plug on that

Are you kidding. There would probably be lawyers lined up if we cut him. The case would not be based on the bullying...it would be based on the fact that we "fired him without just cause." The lawyers would say that he is "a top tier talent that was a starter until the incident, and that his talents may have even gotten better with the rest..."

No way he is back! He is a blackeye on the organization. Maybe for trade value if there is any. But I cant see it being worth the trouble. I could see Incognito back before Martin!

I don't want to live in a world where the complete snake acts like a baby and gets rewarded for it. If anything it should be Incognito who returns.

Posturing in the hopes that someone will be willing to trade for him.

I think the biggest key here is: he's just not good.

Someone would take it. At least to get their name in the press. Of course the Fins could just point to the tape/stats & say they are releasing him because he is one of the worst tackles in the NFL. Plus faulsly accusing a teammate of bullying could definitely be seen as conduct detrimental to the team. It'd be a big case and probably a hung jury. No way you convince an entire jury either way.

That's just it...it would be a fiasco. The NFL wouldn't want any part of it. They would just settle...

In other words, if we cut him...better be ready to cut him a fat check too!
