No news yet and maybe not thread worthy but I think some were hoping the Smith promotion was about dime or playing him deep in a defensive set and McDonald as an LB. However, let's hope it's not because of another injury for a guy who finished the game and is mysteriously missing from practice. Don't want to panic but the same thing happened last week and we all know how that turned out.
 
I said it during the game day thread. It looked like he banged up his shoulder on that end of the half hit. When he prevented the jets from scoring... hope I’m wrong.
 
I like the way the defensive line snap count was handled sunday. Gase has it balanced out pretty good. It's early let the young pups get the reps.

You’re right.

Is that the same shoulder he had his rotator cuff surgery on?

 
Injured the same shoulder he had surgery on. Figured there was a reason they brought up Maurice Smith.

The Dolphins have conducted tests to gauge the seriousness of the injury and it doesn’t seem as if Jones will be out an extended time, such as the entire season. But his status for Sunday’s game is unclear.

Jones has a history of shoulder injuries. Jones played the first six games of the 2016 season with a right shoulder injury, he said he’d been nursing for two years.

That injury was a torn labrum that turned into a torn rotator cuff. Jones required surgery and missed the rest of the season. The fact that surgery came on the opposite shoulder is a positive for the Dolphins.

Nah I was suppose to quote Aqua N Oranges possiblity of Gase giving Jones a vet the day off today.

This would suck tremendously! I'm praying it's not a bad injury and he's just taking the day off. I don't see why he wouldn't be out there at least walking through things though.
