Not that we need another WR but this guy was a 1st rounder for SF and was supposed to replace T.O. He then went to the Chargers and apparantly he has just benn released.
I thought this guy was going to be a star. WOW!

I was surprised to see him released. That guy was money in college.

It's funny. Whenever 'production' triumphs over 'talent' the cinderella writers out there love to talk about it. It only took Don Banks two weeks to write something along those lines about Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams.

But when a Rashaun Woods falls flat on his face, I doubt anyone will pipe up and score one for how much athleticism means to an NFL prospect's chances of making it.

What is wrong with the forums these days? Am i the only one who opens a thread and sees the second post ahead of the first post?

I would actually be shocked if rashaun woods makes an NFL roster, ever again. He was one of the biggest dissapointments in niner draft history ( a very good friend of mine like SF ). He's kinda like their eddie more except worse cause he was a 1st rounder.

Just because your good in college doesnt translate to a successful NFL career.... tim couch, akili smith, ryan leaf, michael westbrook, mike rozier ring a bell, all top 10 picks who well just sucked at this level.

And i hope by starting this post that you didnt think the dolphins are even remotely intrested in him, i doubt he could beat cliff russel out on the depth chart. in conclusion he f'n sucks.

i dont think tim couch failing was his fault.. i mean he played for the browns. they didnt have any WRs, RBs, or TEs to help him.. let alone a defense.

but akili smith is the biggest bust in history.

and ryan leaf..haha. could you imagine how good the chargers would be if they didnt pass up Peyton Manning for Ryan Leaf. They'd have Peyton, L.T., Gates, McCardell and that defense is good enough i think they woulda had a chance to go undefeated.

Denver just snatched him up!
Are you serious? Do you have a link? or where did you hear that?

He did have all the talent in the world. Or at least it looked like it in college. I don't know anything about his stint in SF though... IF he was really that bad, then lets just drop it. However, there are plenty of cases where a player just needs a different environment to succeed. So bringing him in to TRYOUT would not cost us anything.

Here is the link for the story, he definately is a Bronco now.

ENGLEWOOD - The Broncos continued to makes plans for the offense without Ashley Lelie on Wednesday as they claimed former No. 1 pick Rashaun Woods off waivers. Woods had been released by the San Diego Chargers on Sunday.
To make room for Woods, the Broncos released former Utah running back Marty Johnson.

Johnson, who had practiced with the team in the morning, was not on the field for the team's afternoon special teams practice.

Woods was headed to Denver on Wednesday night and is expected, pending a physical, to be on the field this morning for practice.

"He'll get in there, get his physical and we'll see where we're at," said Eric Metz, Woods' representative. "If things go as expected, then he'll be out on the field."

Woods had missed practice time early in Chargers camp because of hamstring troubles, and general manager A.J. Smith said there was not enough room on the roster for Woods.

Earlier in the day, Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said he liked the team's depth at wide receiver, despite Lelie's absence.......

The Broncos also continue to shop Lelie for potential trades but have been patient waiting for someone to meet their asking price of a first- or second-round pick or a front-line player. They also are expected to try to recover some of Lelie's signing bonus before any deal gets made.

Lelie has said he doesn't think he can be more than the No. 3 receiver with the Broncos, so he has stayed away from the team's offseason workouts and training camp. He is being fined $14,000 a day by the team.

man i was sooooooo wrong about Woods. i thought Woods>Evans during that draft

Ouch! Lee Evans was a guy I really liked in that draft. Definitely looked like he could be as successful as Chambers...coming from that same school.
