Ravens | Billick to return in 2006
Wed, 28 Dec 2005 07:34:30 -0800

BaltimoreRavens.com reports Baltimore Ravens head coach Brian Billick will remain the Ravens' head coach for the 2006 season, owner Steve Bisciotti announced at a team meeting Wednesday, Dec. 28. "We have an ongoing and extensive process to find ways to win," Bisciotti said in a statement released by the team. "This included a thorough evaluation of Brian Billick. Collectively, we concluded that continuing with Brian as head coach gives us the best opportunity to win."

Kind of a suprising move if you ask me.

I have just 1 question. Why would an "offensive guru" stick with Boller for all this time. He isnt as good on offense as some claim.

Brian Billick is actually a pretty good coach. They've just had problems getting the QB to run that offense.

his offense isn't good. plus he got rid of the QB that won him a super bowl. he's dumb

I'd say Brian Billick is pretty damn lucky to be keeping his job after how this season went for Baltimore. Maybe it was the last few games that saved his job, but I still think he is lucky considering the expectations everyone had for this team going into this year. I had them winning the AFC North and losing in the Divisionals, some people had them losing in the AFC Championship or going to Super Bowl. Well, the way they are finally playing is now... is what I expected from them all season... plus more. Maybe they'll be good next year, there's a slight chance both Jamal Lewis and Chester Taylor won't be back next year. Most likely Jamal Lewis.

I think the bigger question is whether they stick with Boller............3 weeks ago it wouldn't even have been a question IMO....but he has played very well the last 2 weeks and if he does again this week, do they keep him???

Jamal Lewis doesnt get enough flack for his terrible season. This is a guy who had what a 2000yd season a few back? He goes to prison comes in looking like crap and proceeds to have a horrible year averaging like 3 yds a carry. Teams could tee off on Boller with Lewis playing like a turd all year.
Billick stinks, Id fire him no question. He has had a rotation of some of the worst Qbs in the league every year and hasnt developed good players on offense. The defense isnt great anymore and he isnt winning with his terrible offense. If he was as great as he thinks he is he'd be worth keeping around but he isnt.
