Rumor has it Boldin to the Ravens (per ESPN) may be in the works.

I think we had a pretty good draft. I like the pick up of Wake, the new CB's, some new blood at WR, and the Jacksonville D-linemen.

But let's cut to the chase, if we meet the Ravens in the playoffs WITH Boldin, we would really have to play a lights out game. By lights out I mean, we would have to run the ball (hopefully, Grove, Thomas, Smiley will be smashing by then); we would need to be able to threaten the deep ball even if we don't complete the long pass; and we need to put Flacco on his ***.

Sorry for jumping the gun here, I know the schedule is tougher but my mindset (and I hope the players share this) is that we will return to the playoffs next year. I do feel the Ravens D will be weaker next year, they lost a few guys and their key Defensive coach.

[Also, I think the Bills will play us tough too next year] Sorry, I'm not scared of the Pats at all.

What say you?

If we meet the Ravens in the playoffs, we will have beaten alot of REALLY GOOD teams(with some damn good wrs) to get there. Think the staff will take their chances at that point.

If they get Boldin, they can just about start making Disney reservations. That team is loaded.

Boldin is a good wr, a very good wr, but he seems that he has almost become mythical. Especially on boards like this one, and I am sure on boards for the Ravens, Titans, Eagles, & Giants.

He still has only played in 16 games twice during his 6 year career. The Cardinals have only made the playoffs once in those 6 years. How much of those stats came up in garbage time? Is he really a great wr or is he a great fantasy wr. With the Patriots wiling to give up a 2nd and a 6th for Wes Welker, The Eagles were willing to give up a 1st and a 3rd for LT Jason Peters, and all the picks that the Bears gave up for Cutler, or the Jets gave up for Sanchez, why is no team willing to give up that much for Boldin?
It just makes me wonder.

A WR doesnt make the playoffs for you.. you need a good team.
But if you are a good team than a great WR can put you over the top.
He would do the Jets or Bears almost no good..
But the Eagles or Ravens would gain a lot from having him.
If he goes to Ravens watch out.

I think the major reason deals are not happening is the contract that Boldin will want. He wants to get paid like Larry Fitzgerald, and he just simply is not Larry Fitzgerald. He is a very good reciever, but is not one of the Top 5 receivers in the league. (I'd probably rank him 8th or 9th) Why should he get paid like one?
I think that combined with the durability issues you pointed out are the major stalling points.
I do not agree with him just being a fantasty WR though, the kid is a gamer.

You're right. I am not sold on Boldin and he is certainly overhyped in here. What many folks forget is who lined up across from him and who threw him the ball. The Ravens don't have anyone close to Fitzgerald (not even Boldin if they get him) and Flacco is no Kurt Warner.

Balt couldn't even sign all of their vets because of cap issues, so I'm curious how they could manage to squeeze Boldin in under the cap.

In order to get a guy like Boldin you have to give something up. Maybe they give up too much and wind up a worse team. You can't just look at their current roster and add Boldin without taking a player or future picks away.

I don't think the Ravens will be as good next season. They're still a defensive team, and I don't think their defense will be as strong next season. I'm going to go out on a limb (if a slight one) and say:

Ravens miss playoffs.

No the Ravens will not miss the playoffs because they have one of the weakest schedules this upcoming season. But The Ravens I dont think will get Boldin because they cant afford him unless they dont intend to resign Suggs this following season, which I dont think will happen. They will sign defense over offense, thats why they are as successful as they are.

Do you think that The Cardinals would do this Trade

Dolphins Get:

Anquan Boldin
Calis Cambell
4th Round Pick

Cardinals Get:

Greg Camarillo
Matt Roth
2nd Round Pick 2010
5th Round Pick 2010

Maybe throw in Clark Haggans 4 Reggie Torbor

Then we sign Jason Taylor and its like we didn't trade Roth

We would upgrade

Wr From Camarillo 2 Boldin
OLB/De From Roth 2 Jason Taylor if we sign him
We lose Picks 2nd, 5th but to upgrade team now
We gain Calis Cambell can be a good backup for Merling and Langford and get a 4th Pick To
