The Ravens are exploring the possibility of taking their quarterback of the future in this weekend's draft, but they don't rush him along like they did with Kyle Boller. The Ravens are looking at developing one of the second-tier quarterbacks that includes Houston's Kevin Kolb, Stanford's Trent Edwards, Michigan State's Drew Stanton and Brigham Young's John Beck.

If you guys think that if we dont snag Quinn we have it easy you are nuts.Baltimore, Detroit and the Vikings all want QB's

He's referring to the QB's that people want other than the 2 'first-rounders.'

I agree. If we're targeting one QB in the 2nd- I hope that it's Beck- the chances are that he won't be there at 40. So what do you do? Maybe the simple solution is to secure Trent Green. If not, maybe we have to trade down in the first and take one of those second tier QBs in the mid to late first. I keep coming back to Beck- I think that he may be the target for several teams in the late 1st/early 2nd, and he just won't be there for us.

I been thinking this for a while........ If Jamarcus and Quinn are Both out of reach, then there's no guarantee that Beck, Stanton or Edwards will be there when we pick in the 2nd either which would be somewhat of a disaster IMO as I think the talent drops off quite a bit after those guys unless there's some hidden gem at QB in the later rounds that I don't really know about.

1 of those guys will be available by pick 40 for definate.

All I can say is that I'm losing my damn mind here. We need a QB. NEED a QB. I want Quinn, but if we can't get him, I'd settle for Beck. If we can't get Beck... well... I just don't know.

Baltimore and Detroit have both been eyeing QB's and both pick ahead of us in the second round. Baltimore seems like they are in love with Staton while Detroit really like Beck. So it is starting to look like we will take Kolb. You guys shouldnt be to surprise if we try moving out of the second and snag a QB in the late first. If Mueller and Cam want a QB after they have missed out on Quinn and feel like they need to trade to snag him they will. After Beck Staton and Kolb the value of QB's drops big time. I know Troy Smith was a Heisman Trophy winner, but I have yet to hear anyone bring him in for a workout. Chris Leak will be a very good back-up for this league. Our next QB would be Matt Guiterez who is projected to be a 7th rounde or an undrafted FA. One thing is for sure if we miss out on Quinn our next pick would be QB and I think maybe a 6th rounder could help us move a bit.

What about Edwards? If the guy can stay healthy, he could be a great QB to groom.

I can see the Ravens picking Stanton, esp now because Ogden said he is coming back.
