If Kuharich is indeed responsible for a large part of the Chiefs roster he would be a good hire. Farmer and Kuharich would probably be a good tandem.
Look for Bill Kuharich to land a spot on the Dolphins' new front office staff, perhaps as personnel director. Kuharich has been out of the league for four years, but he is responsible for a good chunk of the Chiefs' roster. His former boss in Kansas City, Carl Peterson, is an adviser to Ross. Kuharich also worked closely on the Chiefs with Ray Farmer, who may be the front-runner for the general manager job.

I know this is from Bleacher Report but Dan Pompei has been an Nfl Columnist for years. He used to be with the Chicago Tribune. Here is some of his history:

Mike Florio reported Bill Kuharich's name on Tuesday and mentioned a front office that included him and Farmer. Bleacher Report likely got that information from there, but I am actually intrigued by that setup of Farmer as GM and Kuharich.

I kind of doubt Pompei got his information from Florio. I have been reading NFL news and stories from him for years, he probably has a lot of contacts.

I liked Farmer initially, but I was never all that impressed. He's likeable, and I love that he's an ex-jock, experienced with FA, and I assumed that one of the positives was that he would be a good choice in the front office when trying to bring FA's around the league to Miami. But he's never run a draft, and I know he'd need a lot of help his first year or so. Plus he doesn't seem that bright. At this point, I really don't want to settle for Farmer. I'd like someone really sharp in that position and a little more aggressive, with some experience.

I think that is good set up too. I would certainly defend that selection here.

Getting the feeling that they liked Farmer but he did not totally impress that's while they kept adding to the list. Someone might have really impressed them the last few days possibly. The longer it goes on I think Farmers chances decrease. Darlington was correct that it was going to take some time.

This is exactly why this long search could end up hurting Farmer.

Why isn't Xanders hired yet?

The impression I get from this process is that Ross isn't going to let himself get caught rushing anything. Right now there is only one other position open to compete against. Why not check out every potential candidate before hiring a guy? What if you hire Xander but miss out on a dude who turns out to be a genius? Ross still hasn't talked to a guy I think would be outstanding, Duke Tobin. I'm not even sure if he's on their radar. You don't need a GM for a while yet. Take your time and try to get it right. This isn't free agency where everyone is throwing money at the same star.

I like Xanders, but I do not think he is some run away winner out of the candidates.

His bio looks a lot better than those others. Maybe not Licht, but he definitely has more experience than Farmer...

Don't soften the Bleacher Report connection. It's amusing when the same crew instinctively mock and attack anything associated with that site. This thread would have been markedly more entertaining if it hadn't been diffused.
