Ray Farmer: Kansas City Chiefs FA classes 2006-2012

some dance to remember...some dance to forget...

I thought that was a mcdaniels doing.

STOP with the facts. you'll ruin the whole thing.

HERES THE THING FOLKS: everybody is going the wrong way on these potential gm guys. like XANDERS, his job has been to scout and help procure a GROUP of talent. we dont know who was all in that talent pool or how the draft board for their team on draft day was stacked. VERY IMPORTANT INFO when deciding if someones group of talent aquisition was a flop or not.

that DOES NOT MEAN he had the final say so. like when anquon boldin was in the draft and EVERY ONE in that draft room begged wanny to take him, we needed wr's in the worst way but, wanny chose EDDIE MOORE. you can lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink!! many times gm's will go against their advisors and many times it ends up bad.

xander, hinkle, farmer, ross and the dozen others we have on tap, when evaluating or critiquing there production, you have to find out FIRST who had the final say in that draft room. we dont know that when some of these examples of failures on talent that are being pointed out are drafted that xander or farmer or whoever wasnt sitting there SCREAMING for the shot caller not do it!!

the selection is made or the free agent is signed and it goes bad and the guy whos job it is to collect talent and ADVISE gets the blame. even though he may well have been against that pic!!

we dont know that the shot caller made these decisions AFTER the talent evaluater begged him not to.

in XANDERS CASE in denver, [as i layed out in my banned post about him actually having HONORABLE character] he wanted out BECAUSE HE WANTED FINAL SAY. and you can bet the reason for it was this very thing [as i'm sure a lot of the up and comer gm candidates], they did not want all their hard work gathering talent end up disgraced and doubted because some pompous gm with the FINAL SAY didnt take his advice and picked guys he wouldnt have.

and non of these candidates who want to move up will be perfect and they HAVE recommended some duds. but, [as i feel in xanders case] some of these guys want to stand on their own two feet and HAVE FINAL SAY, they want people to know that THEY are responsible, they want to prove that they are good at what they do and if given final say, the wincing decisions that shot caller on the team they had been with were not what they wanted. they were over ruled, and they are now getting the blame

so, lets ALL hold off on the "his draft, his pics" bashing untill we find out WHO was the one calling the shots, who wrote the name on the card in the draft room. it pretty much has ALWAYS been that the GM makes that final decision. NOT his underling. so, even though he helped elway in denver [who said he learned and owed xander a lot], JOHN ELWAY made the decision to draft the players out of all the ones xander had for him to choose from. or mcdaniels. or whoever. this info applies to all the candidates even though i used xander in some of my points.

and, we do not know which players they may have AGREED on! there are just to many variations for people to be so dogmatic about what really took place on these candidates teams. but, the gm/shot caller has to take the brunt as he IS the final say and its HIS JOB to make the right pic, no matter what his underling presents.

people need to be looking at WHO has the final say on the candidates team and putting any blame on THEM for the failure AND the victories. i keep seeing, "well, i dont like what i see from HIS drafts" in this year or that year or overall. you have to remember, its not the UNDERLINGS draft, its the GM'S draft, the FINAL SAY guy. theres just to much getting thrown at all these candidates that have no merit.

I had no idea Travis Daniels was still in the NFL
