Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice has been suspended for the first two games of this season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy following his offseason arrest for domestic violence.

The suspension, which was announced Thursday by the league, stems from Rice's altercation with then-fiancée Janay Palmer at an Atlantic City hotel in February.
Rice also was fined an additional regular-season game check but is eligible to participate in training camp and all of Baltimore's preseason games, the NFL announced.

So hurting someone's feelings is worse than beating your wife. Thanks for being my moral center Rog.

I think rice should have been suspended much longer, but who are you referring to regarding the league punishing someone for hurting someone's feelings? Incognito's suspension was a team decision, not league. His fellow douchebags received no suspensions.

What's also sad is that obviously you can get suspended longer for smoking weed (4 games) than hurting/beating your wife (2 games). Good to see ol' Roger has his priorities intact. :bobdole:

Way too short. Let me get this straight. Guys using PEDS, are suspended at least 4 games or more, but a man beating up his wife, suspended 2 games? What a great example Roger.

I should have clarified. Incognito is out of the NFL. The incident blackballed him from ever working again, not that he isn't an asshole, but "The Shield" made a much bigger deal about that, then about domestic abuse.

I think it's laughable that racists like Wilbon yesterday declared the 2 game suspension as appropriate cuz we don't know what transpired in the elevator - but on the basis of Martin's mommy releasing selectively parsed racist suggestive Incog texts immediately was ready to tar and feather him (of course before he released all the texts revealing that Martin was as big a transgressor and scumbag if not more so.

NFL **** this up. 2 games. really 2 games should have been a 8+ to send a message.

Well, from what I understand, Rice was assaulted by his drunk fiancee in the elevator, and,
he knocked her out. Tough ****. If you want to hit, you are going to get hit.

My wife knows not to hit me. It's one thing to slap or do one thing out of anger, but if you are at
a dude continuously, then, you shed all "Girl" rules, IMO.

Before anyone asks; Her name is Lesa and we've been married for 18 years.
I don't beat her and she doesn't beat me.

The video from inside the elevator hasn't been made public, but the witness who spoke to Deadspin said Rice hit her "like you would punch a man" (purportedly with an upper-cut). She then hit her head on the way to the ground and that's what knocked her out.

It's not a fair fight. He's an NFL athlete. At the very least he could have restrained her, or extricated himself from the situation. There's no reason for him to cold**** her like that. What's saving Rice is the fact that she was still willing to marry him after the incident, as well as that blame deflecting press conference they held together (which I personally didn't think sent a good message to young women, but whatever).

If you want to play like a man, then that's your fault, AFAIC.

If he "Restrained" her, or did whatever, he'll still be prosecuted like he hit her, so,
finish it out. You can sustain a few hits or whatever, but eventually, if she's hitting then,
she can get hit.

I personally don't think any human being has an inherited right to place hands on another
human being when said hands are not wanted. Female or not.

First of all, weird logic. Second, I'm not sure what makes you think that. If Rice gains wrist control long enough to remove himself from the elevator then we're not having this discussion.

So if your wife comes home and finds you frogging the maid and tries to slap you a few times, do you feel justified at that point to blast her full force in the face with a straight right?

I don't have a maid.

I'm a prison guard, sir.
I don't have a maid, and my wife would chop my balls off and hold them aloft to
whatever their goddess is these days if she came home to that.

She understands that she doesn't hit me. That doesn't happen.
At all. I adhere to the same rules.

It's a hypothetical, and you didn't answer the question (or maybe you did).
