Without a doubt RB is the easiest position to fill on a football team, no position has more turnover and more success than the RB position...

I think we should be fine.

What really sucks is 2 things:

1. THE TRIFECTA HAS YET TO SHOW THAT THEY HAVE AN EYE FOR TALENT. Especially diamonds in the rough. Signing Devon Bess does not count, there are countless better receivers out there who came at a cheaper price.

2. RONNIE BROWN was a special player. I will really miss him... Hopefully the stars align and he ends up back with us. I doubt it tho...

Maybe but you can never replace the talent brown had he can run, catch (which is badly lacking this season), and throw pretty damn good. The rest of the season looks really bad...

Regarding your thread title, I basically agree. However, I think Miami's situation is a bit different in that I don't think you can just "plug-in" another RB and honestly expect him to run the wildcat as well as Brown.

I'm with ya on the trifecta's ability to gauge talent -- specifically on the offense. It seems like they went into this past year's draft w/ blinders on and drafted guys on the O side who could have been had in later rounds (Hartline, Turner and perhaps White come to mind) and maybe not even at all (Nalbone).

Although if Henne pans out that will be a pretty huge feather in their cap.

If that was true, it wouldn't speak very highly of the greatest coach the Dolphins ever had.

Who is cheaper than a undrafted FA ?
And who is better than him who is making less than him?

Really? They've shown they have a lack of an eye for talent? Wow..

They haven't been horrible, but I'd say that Turner, G. Wilson, E. Wilford, and re-signing Crowder were pretty questionable moves.

Jury is still out on White and Hartline.

Yea that was just a silly comment... I guess Long, Davis, Smith, Henne, Merling, and Langford all suck then? Bess does count, why wouldnt he? How about Polite? How about Wake? Better yet, how about Thomas? He has not been a All-Pro, but this has basically been his rookie year.

Only thing I agree with there is Wilford.

Turner, we haven't seen what we can do yet. Gibril has been really good lately. Crowder was all we had at the time, we had too many other holes to fill to let a decent player go.

If your talking about yards p/ reception and YAC, then I guess no one. :rimshot:

I like Bess (at least as an undrafted free agent) but the trifecta has not been very lucky at the WR position -- at least so far.

I'm not dissing the Turner pick entirely, it just seems like he could have been had in a later round, same w/ White and perhaps Hartline. Maybe not horrible picks (only time will tell), but I just got the impression that we targeted guys that would have been available in the later rounds and could have managed to get another pick had we traded say our 4th and 5th round picks.

Gibril played horribly in some very close games (NO, Indy). Not that he was the only goat, but perhaps had he not played so horribly the scores would've been different. You're pretty much right about Crowder -- it just chaps my arse to see that kind of $$ given to an average player (at best) that talks too much trash.

And another thing about Turner pick -- you'd think that if the trifecta thought he was worthy of a 4th round pick, he would have somehow got a lot more playing time, ESPECIALLY when considering who he's competing against.

Yeah, I can see what you're saying. We're just gonna have to wait till the end of the season to judge all these guys, since some of them haven't gotten much playing time, and guys like Wilson are turning it around and becoming solid players

Agreed.

And let's also hope that the good looking picks (Merling, Langford, Clemons, Davis, Smith) and FA pick ups and re-signings (Wake, TAYLOR, Grove, Cobbs(IR though)) continue to work out well.

^*edit*^: add Starks to that list as well.

I think the whole thing really hinges on Henne though.
