ok guys, what do you think about this.. I think its a pretty good idea.

Ricky williams came to miami and lost about 10 lbs and he said he felt much quicker and gained a 2nd gear that he lacked at first. He said he played much better and was more explosive. as we know including last year, RW broke many runs of 20 or more and 2 of 34 and 35 i believe for TD's. But that was thru experience by cutting back the other direction taht he said he LEARNED thru videos and never realized that before in his career how he still learned more via that.

Well personally, i think RB shoudl lose 5-10 lbs himself. He needs that 2nd gear as well. I think 240 lbs is a bit too heavy. He said he gained weight so he could carry the load this year but i think that is just obsurd how they make the "carry a full load" such abig deal. if the man couldnt carry the load at 232 coming in the league, why draft him 2nd overal? probably b/c he was the best player available as it seems obvious now at this time but he doesnt need that extra 10 lbs to finish a season. I think it will benefit him a lot to lose some of that weight. Chambers said himself, the man weights 240 and runs a 4.4 40. He is av ery powerful back and i think losing 5-10 lbs wont do him as much harm as it will affect him for teh better.

Yeh no point in havin all muscle if u cant get anywhere.
Ronnie was wrong to bulk up.

I don't losing weight will help. Ronnie just doesn't have "it".....

No need to go into detail, his play of the field speaks for itself in my opinion. In two years, he's been an average RB at this level. Call me a negative fan, call me a Ronnie hater, but there's no hiding from the truth....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

I agree, he played better his first year, but, I think part of that was splitting carries with RW. No matter if our second back is RW or SM, the coach needs to realize that in this NFL it is better to have a two headed beast at running back, that will help more than anything.

GO PHINS~!

I agree a team needs two solid backs these days. Would be nice to have a Maurice Jones-Drew, a Jerious Norwood, a Brandon Jacobs or a Micheal Turner in the stable with Brown.

Ronnie can feel free to NEVER do anything like Ricky and that would be fine with me. However, if he needs to improve something, it would be his vision. He just doesn't see the gaps every time...and he needs more work setting up blocks. Probably just means he needs more time in the offense (remember this guy is a career back-up/role player). If it was JUST about speed, Travis Minor would be the second coming.

Yeah I remember RW losing all that weight after he gained 1800+ yards for us and seeing his production drop significally in 2003. Ronnie just needs to trust his blockers and instincts.

actually rb's problem is not hitting the whole as soon as he sees it. he tiptoes too much. he is big enough to pound the whole like a bowling ball

The problem with Ronnie is not lack of vision. Rather, his vision is pretty much a snowball effect. I remember CK saying that Ronnie's vision improve as the game goes along. And I must say, after watching a game he is right. The more Ronnie Brown plays, the more his vision increases until it hits a high level. His only problem knock is that he doesn't have the high level vision in the beginning of the game.

I don't think Ronnie Brown is just average. As a matter of fact, he (along with Wes Welker) has been our most offensive consistent threat. The difference between Welker and Brown is that Welker is utilized more.

well it wouldnt hurt to cut morris and minor and draft A.D. Peterson and then we could have the tripplets . also it would not kill us if we traded chambers to denver for tatum bell or move the randyman to runningback , hell he is big enough to succeed there.:cooldude:

Well he definitely needs a 2nd gear that doenst go back to one.
He is quik bursting out but man he can't outrun nobody really this year.

Now reggie bush burst is god given speed as well, he runs a 4.20 flat so there shouldnt be a though of someone saying ''can he be as fast as him (bush)they were both 2nd overall picks'' plus reggie is 210.
6'0 210.

Now maurice drew thighs are funny but those are some powerful legs i tell you and he is extremy fast and will kill you in a chase but he doesnt have a 4th gear like reggie he got's a 3rd gear.
5'7 212, .

Steven jackson is huge and he will kill you he got great game speed and he does seem to burn you.
6'2 230.

Shaun alexander carried the load last year won MVP.
5'11 225.

Ladainian.
5'10 220:o .

Now all this players have gears but ronnie is lacking it for a reason he needs to get down to 230-225,i mean god at 240 you have a human ball that cant be a threat running away.

Now jamal lewis ran a 4.4 if im not mistaken he's 5'11 245 i think weight is an issue here as well.

Gore is 5'9 215, and he has outstanding power and breakway speed.

Larry johnson is 6'1 230, so anything over 230 for ronnie is inexcusable, i think he likes eating and is using bulk as an excuse.

No, no, no. Ricky lost the weight in the offseason right after the trade and BEFORE gaining 1800 yards in '02.

I've noticed right when Sammy gets the ball he has already chose where he is going to go and is hitting it at full speed. It seems when I watch Ronnie he waits until he has the ball and sees the wide open whole to turn on the speed. A Perfect example would be Sammy's long run against Detroit. I think if Ronnie was in, it would have only been a 15-20 yard gain. With that said, lets get Ronnie his carries because he has proven he has the potential of an LT.

I really don't think you made one valid point here at all. :rolleyes2
