which player would have the greatest impact on this team

ricky williams or zach thomas

Man. That's a tough one, but I'd have to lean towards Ricky. Ricky would be such an amazing crutch to lean on for Tannehill.

We can get by without a great MLB with Suh keeping whoever is back there relatively clean. But we need to score points, and Ricky would help the cause tremendously.

Stepping out of spot as a Dolphins fan, who likes both players, I would say most opponents would lose more sleep over Williams in this offense than Thomas leading the defense.

I totally agree with this. I think Ricky would've feasted on defenses in this offense. Play action plays would be easy money. Then again... Zach's major weakness was getting caught in the wash on run plays. He had difficulty at times shedding blocks. With Suh in front of him, that'd be much less of an issue. Zach always put up gaudy tackle numbers, but now he'd have the ability to make a lot more of those tackles at or behind the line of scrimmage. Tough one, but I'd still say Ricky.

Essentially this argument could be gurley/Gordon vs Kendricks at 14.

In that case it's easily Kendricks. Miller was fine, but I agree I power back would be a good compliment. But not in the 1st round. Easier to find good rb's later in the draft than a mlb... We also have Damien Williams who wasn't bad and should improve more year 2

However as far as RW vs ZT, I'd pick Ricky no doubt. He was special. Not taking anything away from Thomas but I think
Ricky would have more of an impact

If we're talking right now, Ricky Williams for sure. It was such a different league when he played. Imagine him being able to run out of passing formations. He'd run over guys that were crowding the line...get him in space and it's game over.

But as far as the future is concerned, it's a pretty bad investment to take a first-round running back just based on longevity and the number of other players on the board.

Totally agree. I want no part of Gordon/Gurley in round 1

It's not saying those guys won't go on to have good careers, but there are day 2 and 3 running backs every year that have great careers as well
