No. Reason being the $$$. Saban is trading Surtain because he needs cap room to sign his rookies, and trading for one of those RBs would put us right back in the mess we are already in. If we don't draft a RB in round 1, we will draft one either in round 2 or 3.
I think there's a good possibility (almost a certainty) that Saban will select the QB that remains after SF picks, if we are not able to trade down. If Saban sticks to his guns, does what he has said and demands fair trade for the #2 pick, I don't see a trade down happening. This draft class is simply not that deep within the higher picks to give up so much. The only possible exception, IMO, is if Cleveland wants to move up one pick to get Smith.

No. We won't be able to afford a top-tier free agent or franchise RB. Chances are, if we take a QB, we will draft a RB in the 2nd (Surtain trade) or 3rd round and use that RB along with Gordon.
