I was scrolling the cablevision tonight and watched the running back portion of on field skills of the combine.

Seeing as Miller may walk, we have a hole to fill and I dont really trust Ajayi just yet.

Other than the two big ones, Elliot and Henry, three other RBS stood out for me.

In order:

1. DeAndre Washington - He was quick with his cuts, caught the ball well and had good burst. While a bit small he looked the part.

2. Wendell Smallwood - Although he had too many drops(maybe trying too hard, not concentrating), he ran consistent routes, and had a good burst up the field.

3. Kenneth Dixon - Good burst after the catch, made a couple of nice catches on bad throws, and decisive.

Thoughts?

Disappointed with Collins, was expecting better from him. But sheesh Henry's numbers were pretty beast, I almost wouldn't even be mad if we went with him. But our defense really needs help unfortunately

I was thinking earlier, I watched a ton of running backs in last years class. Ajayi was a player I loved and I'm quite happy we got him.

But all the tape I watched, all the articles I read, all the draft twitter people I follow.

I don't remember anyone even mentioning Thomas Rawls or Jeremy Landford. And both of them were pretty phenominal last season.

And a lot of rbs that most ppl were high on, Cobb, Robinson, etc, looked pretty bad at the NFL level.

^^^^ What about David Johnson. He was a beast. He was under the radar for sure

Josh Ferguson is really growing on me as a later rnd RB. A lot to like with him, at worst should be a very effective 3rd down back. I Love the way he waits until last second to change direction and just accelerates, you really don't see it coming.

Kind of reminds me of a poor mans Duke Johnson. but in some ways maybe better?
