Thanks to the wonders of DVR i decided to go back and re-look at Pat White performance in the 4th quarter. After watching him over again i must say he is damn good, every single pass was on the money and looked great in the pocket and rolling out knowing when to get on the move. Im not saying that Pat White should be our next starter over Henne, BUT i am saying that this kid has a good arm with a pair of legs. i think if White can mantain that kind of play there is no reason why he shouldnt at least battle it out with Henne for number 1. Either way we are in a great position because Henne looks like hes been doing this for ever in the NFL and White looks scary in the pocket (vick like with a better arm). I hope its a grueling battle to grab the number1 spot once old Noodle arm and the fins parts ways. What you guys think about White as a potential starter?

Man, I wish I could watch it :( Don't have NFL Network. But I've seen the Pat White highlights and he did look pretty good. Even the pick he "threw" was right in the guy's hands that he was throwing to, but it slipped out and fell into a defender's hands.

Did Wake consistently give the QB trouble?

You saw him getting pressure on plays, he was at least noticable, tough to call though because the guy wasnt with the starting unit getting same pressure on the opposite side like porter gets out of taylor (visa versa). Another couple notes since you only watched highlights, Ricky looked very good, Ronnie so-so again (always like that in preseason) Cobbs was unimpressive and Lex hilliard looks very good, i wouldnt be surprised if he pushes cobbs outta the way.

Seriously.... when was the last time we had 3 solid QB's on our team?
I'll answer that for you..... NEVER!!!!! What a difference from the Wanny days.

Hmm.. Cobbs performed really, really well for us last season though. I'd rather bring Lex in his a fullback, since we pretty much already have two power backs with Ronnie and Ricky. But then again, I'm not the one that got to watch him play so I don't really know  What do you mean when you say he looked really good?

I want to see if White can improve his ability to get out from under center this week....he just looked awkard last week, but he did play pretty well.

white did look damn good - especially considering the conditions. the only thing i didn't like was he kept rolling out to the right instead of the left - for a lefty QB that just didn't make sense.

The guy was just fast, hit the holes very well and had great break away speed for his size, he just looked the most impressive, ya he was up against the 2nd and 3rd stringers but so wasnt cobbs. Tough to say without actually seeing it ya know. Dont know how well lex can block but man he can run.

The thing to take away from Pat White's performance is that he is definitely a better player when the lights go on. We keep hearing about all of these issues he's having in practice, but when the lights went on and push came to shove, he performed. He threw balls that should have been caught. He ran for first downs. I count two mistakes he made. One was a run where he went out of bounds something like a foot or two short of the sticks, and he could have pushed it for the first down. That's an awareness thing. Sometimes you see veterans doing the same thing, he was just a rookie in his first NFL action, so maybe we can forgive that. The other mistake was a ball he turfed after he got pressured and scrambled away. He could have completed that to Lex Hilliard. There were some other throws he completed that were a little bit rushed, he could have chosen to push them down the field, and also some other plays where he took off running even though he could have kept looking for a target to pass the ball to...it wasn't a "superb" outing but it WAS a "pretty good" one...and I think that's significant because from what these bloggers keep telling us, he has not been "pretty good" in practice. Also sort of makes me wonder if the bloggers know what they're seeing. Which, of course, I always wonder.

ya i noticed that as well but maybe it was the pressure from different sides ya know? I hated how the scrub wideouts kept droppin his passes tho, and that pick lol.

It's time to work on your weaknesses. You don't want to end up like Vick did at the end, completely unable to maintain a passing threat when rolling to your right.

I agree that he looked good but I think the coaches kept thing very simple for him. The one interception he threw, the deflection off Hilliard, he threw too hard. Other than that, everything was on target.

For White to challenge Henne for the #1, or #2 depending on what they do with Pennington next year, he will have to learn more of the playbook and Henne has a year headstart on that.

He threw it a little harder than he could have, but that's still Anthony Kimble's fault directly. It's only Pat White's fault inasmuch as a pee wee or high school coach would tell his quarterback, "If it didn't get caught, you could have thrown it better."

When a ball hits you in the hands and you drop it....it's your fault.

My only qwarms with white is he looks like he'd get broken in two if he took a big sack.. The kid is skin and bones, he needs to bulk up
