I personally want Quinn and I keep hearing from people who don't want him and say that we should just wait until the second or third to take someone like Stanton or Edwards. Everyone's entitled to their opinion but it just got me thinking, how much value do you go for at a position like quarterback?

If you have to decided between taking a second round grade QB in the first or a third round grade QB in the third which do you do? The second option you get more value but since you take a QB with a third round grade you still end up with a worse player at the most important position on the field. So isn't it worth it to reach for a quarterback if you know that he is the best option even if you aren't getting the value that you would necessarily want?

Again I'm not making any pro Quinn statements, just posing a hypothetical draft question.

Good post, I think getting Kevin Kolb or Stanton in the second is better value.

I would only try to grab Quinn if he falls past the first four spots....then we need to trade up our #9 and a 2nd rounder with the Redskins and move up to grab Quinn. If Quinn is taken by Cleveland, which I think he will be, then I think we try to draft Kolb in the 2nd or 3rd.....either way, we are probably looking at Cleo Lemon being our QB next year, until we bring in Trent Green.

I'd rather have Quinn as our future franchise QB then stick with Lemon, C-Pepp, Green, and/or another rookie QB.

Tom Brady...

Tom Brady...

Yes you can point out abberations but the reason he was taken in the 6th round was because team's didn't think he was better than the QB's ahead of him. Theoretically the quarterbacks taken in the first round are better than those in the second round and so on but obviously that doesn't always turn out to be the case.

I wouldn't mind trading up with the redskins to grab Quinn, but I'd trade our 1st and 3rd rounder for him, not a 1st and 2nd. First off our #9 and #40 pick are worth 1850 points (compared to Washington's 1600) and our #9 and #60 are worth 1650 points. That is close but our #9 and #71 is worth 1585, so we could send them a 1st and 3rd for Quinn. It also helps us that Washington only has one day one draft pick, so I think we'd tell them take the 1st and 3rd or leave it, and they'd probably grab it knowing they won't get a better deal. I mean we could throw in a 6th rounder to make the trade even, so there's no reason to go 1st and 2nd rounder, if we are trading with the redskins.

that's my draft pick value chart.
