when your dad pimps your mom you cant be normal

Oohh please a lot of you take more that the ocassional offensive question from your bosses for a hell of a lot less money than dez is making! Get over it!

Yeah but eVERYONE in the nfl knows Ireland for that question. They probably don't know anything else about him other than the question and what team he works for. That does not help us in the least.

It was a dumb question and he had no business asking it as it has no bearing on anything he does on the field.

If your dad is a pimp and your mom works for him, it's pretty much like saying your dad runs a Ponzi scheme and your mom works for him. In other words, the kid's parents are amoral criminals. No more questions need be asked.

Now, this kid is being hired to play football. If he went to school, kept his nose clean, played hard and was disciplined and coachable, there is no need to visit his parents' sins on him. Again, no need to ask the question.

We learned in the schoolyard that you stay away from stuff about other people's mothers.

I completely disagree, Bryant put it out there first, it was just a follow up question. And the assumption of someone staying quiet and assume, well, sorry, its a natural reaction as far as i am concerned to follow up.

Besides all of this, what anyone should have picked up on when dez byrant speaks, is he is not that intelligent.

makes you wonder how he got through college

Well for one we have no clue who brought up what first . I trust Ireland no more than I trust bryant. Should have never been any convo on it but we will never know the exact convo. Obviious spending big money and draft picks is no problem on a player thAT has been arrested about a dozen times including battery on a woman but have a possible prostitute for a mom thats a red flag lol

Is an NFL GM suspose to know EVERYTHING about EVERY possible draft pick? No...that's why you conduct interviews. If you don't these (kids) any questions, that's not much of an interview is it?

Some of you would draft these players because they look good in uniform, saw them on Sportscenter, heard about them from someone or whatever reason(s).

Some would not select certain players because they "suck". How do you know this? You watched one game on a Sat. and a player has a bad game, or what appeared to be a bad game, and then all of a sudden, you know for a fact they "suck".

I apologize to the smarter posters on this board, and you know who you are.

The question was ridiculous because before you go into that interview you had a staff of people investigating every bit of this kids life. You know everything about him before you sit down. So even if you don't know what street corner she worked on, you knew his parents had their issues.

He had no reason to ask the question and embarrass the kid. PERIOD. The question was indefensible. And now we as fans are paying for it

You want to know how he's going to react. I've had people do that in interviews. Not that specific question, but I've had it happen.

Dez Bryant is a dumb****, and hasn't managed to post a 1K season yet. I'd say Ireland did right.

I think Ireland handled the Dez Bryant wrong. He could have framed the question differently. Just an ******* way of asking a question. He obviously asked that question, in that manner, to get a response from Bryant. Frankly, I think he is lucky to have his original front teeth at this point.
Irelands picks have been a mixed bag..you list the better picks but you leave off the bad ones and the poor free agent signings, or over paid signings. The job he is doing is not great...far from it. Until we have a great front office, our team will stink. It is just that simple.

Exactly! What's so hard for people to understand Ireland asked this question to see how this kid would react period! This is the nfl if you come in with any kind of star Power your past will be dug up and someone is going to ask you the question. This kid is about to sign a contract worth millions of dollars no question is out of bounds!!!!

Finally, a Dolfan human who has some sense. Who is that idiot Ryan Clark to disrespect us anyways. Great insight and for all you negative idiots get off this forum as it is not what it used to be.

at this point its not so much his talent evaluation that brings him down in my eyes, it's his crediablity or lack therof, his trustworthiness. I know its a business, and you learned from bill parcels, but even bill had things he wouldn't do, and jeff, sometimes less is more. sometimes just a curtesy call to your longtime team captain telling him you've got other plans, while he still has a chance to secure a good paying job somewhere else would pay off huge as far as restoring or building that trust.

Isnt the bottom line this team has had three losing seasons in a row and we are still rebuilding? The GM has nothing to do with that?

I do agree that the whole Dez Bryant thing was blown out of proportion, but Jeff Ireland is still an idiot.

You are simply an idiot or you don't care if you ask that question. He will have to go at some point most likely.

What i got out of that article is that the OP is applauding Jeff Ireland for signing Matt Moore... a veteran journeyman in the NFL who has no shot of taking a team anywhere, worthwile to 1st year rookies..and applauds him for outperforming them.

Who expected any of those rookies to lead their teams to the superbowl in year one? go to the probowl in year one?

What the Ireland apologists keep claiming is a "good job" has us continually chasing our own tails in mediocrity. You don't draft a potential franchise quarterback to win it all in year one, but rather to compete for one during the next decade. But i'm sure that doesnt matter... Ireland is doing a fantastic job, continually putting together a mediocre record and becoming the biggest PR nightmare the dolphins have seen in a long time.

But he's doing things to turn this franchise around? resigning Steve Slaton? are you guys seriously making that a positive move for Ireland lol. this place is getting insane
