I like the move only if Daunte returns and isn't permanently impacted by this injury.

Keep in mind we'd still have to have a backup possibly start a few regular season games too...interesting, though, indeed.

Wow, that gets me pretty excited. I would gladly trade our 1st round pick for him if thats what it took

i will tell u right now the only chance we get him is if they cut him, we are over the days of giving away all our picks... also that way we can lower him contract which i think is like 7 years for like 100 million

I really like the thought of having him especially with Linehan. The injury does make me nervous but good lord, I can't say without lying that the first time I heard that rumor I didn't get immediately excited.

He isn't old (he's 28) and if he returns from this injury unimpacted, it could be a good thing. I refuse to believe he's lost his A game just because of this year.

I remember how I didn't believe the Ricky Williams whispers until it was inked :)

It would be pretty funny to have Daunte as our starting QB next season with Gus backing him up.

If he's healthy, I do it. Question is at what cost, I'd be willing to give up our second rounder but that's it.

We could always give a call to Bubby Brister or see what Rob Johnson is up to...

I doubt Minny would let him go for nothing, he's still considered a top QB in the league.

I too am weary of giving up draft picks again for players. I realise the upside and possibilities with Culpepper and I like the kid alot, but, who knows what his future is with this knee injury and if we can get Croyle in the 2nd or 3rd round and have him groom behind Gus one year and still have all our other draft picks in place, then i'd feel better. I'd wait and see what we do and who we get in Free Agency first before knowing if we should trade any picks. If we pick up some of our needs in Free Agency, then maybe we trade a pick, but that's yet to be seen.

Hey, if he can pass the physical you pull that trigger in a heartbeat.

And some of you wouldn't give up our first for a franchise, mvp-level 28 year old quarterback? Who on earth do you think you are going to get with the 16th pick that is half as good as Dante?

That's crazy talk. If he's healthy and all it takes is our #1, boom, make it happen.

If Daunte is healthy and not significantly impacted, we know what we can do. We don't know what some rookie can do. Another plus side is that Daunte knows Linehan's system...hell, I attribute THAT, and not Randy Moss's departure, as the reason Daunte struggled this year.

I like the idea although I don't know if it will happen or if he will pass the physical

? That's what the draft is. You give up a pick for a player. We gave up a #2 overall for Ronnie Brown, for example.

Difference is that there is no one we can pick at 16 that is half the talent Dante is.

I am not tired of giving up picks, I'm tired of giving up picks for BAD players. There's a huge difference.

Yea, I don't exactly consider trading a 2nd rounder for Feeley as being anywhere near trading a pick for, oh, Daunte Culpepper.
