Readdressing Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill’s main criticisms

"There have been times where he has held on to the ball too long or kept his eyes down field without ever looking around the pocket for any breakdowns and avoid taking a sack."

lol at keeping the eyes downfield too long

(for the record, i am aware this article doesn't use this against Tannehill. just goes to show you how stupid some of that criticism really is though)

cant take anything too serious when the writer has terrible grammar. Really, this guy should go back to school and learn what he failed to learn the first time around in middle school and high school. I know it's just a fan blog, but still.....

Bottom line leading or almost leading the NFL in sacks every year has to be corrected. It's a big issue for this team to move forward.

Last year? I think we were near the bottom

We only gave up 30 last year 10th best. By comparison the worst team gave up 66 sacks that was the Browns

Thats sacks per pass attempt or just overall sacks? Thanks

That's a total. I can try to look up per attempts

When you do the math the dolphins gave up a sack every 19.7 attempts. As far as how that compares with the NFL idk. I don't have time to do the math for all 32 teams

Thanks with a improved running game I expected that our overall sacks should come down its per attempt that can get you in trouble especially with turnovers

I would love to see a combo of one sack per game or less and 1/2 interception per game. That would be 16 sacks allowed and only 8 interception for the season. Those two numbers and just his career norm everywhere else should lead to a Pro Bowl-like season for Tannehill. A 4000 yard season with a 3-to-1 td to int ratio would put him among the elite.

That just doesn't happen in today's NFL with the overall increase in pass attempts. 25-30 range is still top 10 and around 20 is exceptional.

I wonder if you've checked NFL stats. Hey why stop there? Why don't you also love to see a 200 yd rusher per game, 350 passing yds, no fumbles and at least one 50+ FG per game.

The Raiders only gave up 18 last season. I don't think it's out of the question for a team to give up 16. And if a team does it "I" would like to see it be Miami. And nine teams had 8 or fewer int's
