I hated the Brian Hartline pick in the 4th round of the 2009 Draft and even though it's very early this kid has put my foot in my mouth and I am eating it. From what I've read he was an absolute terror today catching 4 balls over 40 yards for a couple of scores. He has had a very solid camp and this guy is starting to look like an absolute player. Since this isn't reason enough to start a thread let's discuss this further. The one big criticism and concern of this team was the receiving core. I can tell you that from what I saw in camp and what I have read that this isn't my concern at all anymore.

*Ted Ginn Jr. is breaking out. He is running better routes, catching the ball better, and heading up field after he catches the ball. I see a lot of similarity in his game with Steve Smith of the Carolina Panthers. Ginnis explosive and natural football player who has put in hard work this off-season to gear up for the season. Can Ted Ginn Jr. become a #1? We will see but I can assure you that he is not a bust. Thus far he has been a better pro than Brady Quinn and the development continues with a bright future ahead. Head Coach Tony Sparano even said at time he was "dominant".

*Greg Camarillo is already running with the starters only 7 months removed from his ACL injury. Camarillo catches everything and from what I have heard spent countless hour is the gym rehabbing and getting into shape. This guy is the type of player who results in cmhampionships. He does not have Randy Moss ability but his worth ethic makes him a very good player. I watched him run beautiful routes while I was in Miami and this kid is back.

*Davone Bess was the hidden gem of the 2008 NFL Draft and like I have said he is Wes Welker 2.0 with a little more shiftiness. Bess is the ideal slot receiver and this guy fights for every yard. He is so quick and shify in the middle that nickel backs don't reallt stand a chance. He is also dangerous in the return game.

*Patrick Turner has been very impressive; he has great size, great hands, runs great routes, and comes from a great USC program. He has been abusing corners thus far and looks to be a real steal. McShay and Kiper can go sword fight because they wrote this kid off way too soon. He looks NFL ready as a rookie, that's impressive

*Brian Hartline is tearing it up. read above. The guy comes from a great program and it is transfering into the NFL. He looked to be a huge reach and even though it's way to early to call him the second coming of Steve Largent he looks to be ready to make some plays. Another solid special teams player.

These 5 guys give us a dangerous receiver core. Throw in Brandon london who is a physical freak and Anthony Armstrong and we are pretty lodaded at Receiver. It will be very interesting to see how this pans out

I still don't like the hartline pick. Even if he is good I just think we could have used another player at a differen't position rather than a 5th or 6th wr.

Funny i was just about to make a similar thread... but mine was geared towards Hartline and Turner specifically.

I'll say this, never have i heard of two rookie WRs making such an impact in a Miami Dolphins TC. And to think that everyone (myself included) was disappointed with those picks. Like you said, let's not get too far ahead of ourselves here, but Turner and Hartline definitely seem like they've got quite a bit of talent.

What a great complement to our #1 scoring receiving threat - Fasano
What a great complemen to our #1 offesive threat - Ronnie

Who cares about the wildcat - it just gives our opponents something to worry about

We are looking up offensively!!!

How about some kudos to Henne as a scout. I imagine the real reason the fins went to OSU was to scout Robiskie. Henne raves about Hartline even though he comes from his dreaded Buckeye rival...

Harline if he pans out is a great pick in Round 4. I don't care about other needs. We have 5 guys ready to contribute at Wide Receiver right now... at least 5

It's great to know you're man enough to admit that you were wrong. The only problem is, it's too early to know for sure one way or the other. I wasn't thrilled about the Hartline pick either. In fact here's my exact quote in a thread about him having signed:

Great. I hope he doesn't suck as much as I think he does.

It's ok Realdriscoll, pretty soon we will all be eating crow including myself.

Be careful about evaluating players in training camp. Especially WRs.

I am withholding judgment until the bullets are real.

Well here's the thing.... I could be wrong about all of this but I don't see Hartline ever beating out Ginn or Turner for the #1 or #2 WR spots, and I don't see him ever beating out Bess as a slot WR. Not to mention Camarillo who is already a starter and it's possible he never gets subplanted. Of course all of this goes out the window if some of these other WR's get hurt or traded or aren't re-signed when their contracts are up but seriously..... would you play Hartline over any of those 4 guys?

I'm not saying Hartline is a bad player or that he won't pan out but I just don't think he's better than anything we already had and we needed players at other positions where we don't have good depth.

These are the kind of players that gives me so much confidence on Dolphin management team. In the past the old Dolphin mgmt would pick WR on size or atheletic ability. This mgmt team pick football players, WR that can run good routes and catch the football. When is the last time we heard from training camp so 30 to 40 yrds catches for scores. Give credit to the mgmt finding real QB also. This camp has been fun to read about so far.

I need to see more but I think he reminds me of a young Cris Collinsworth.

This year's camp is much better then the past "blunderball" camps we have seen offensively. Hell, they used to average 3/4 false starts a practice.

As a spectator this team has a different feel to it this year. Maybe I am so used to TC reports being about guys that don't look quite ready yet and need lots of reps. It seems like all the reports coming out of camp are glowing with raves about how our guys are playing in the first few days of camp.

I'm glad this year we are talking about how good the players look in practice rather than how much potential they have.

It's nice NOT to read reports about how all 3 QB's in camp look equally below average as they fight for the starting job.
