All these ignorant threads about the QB play make no sense whatsoever...
The reality of the situation is really simple-the offense, in particular QB is not performing to what would be an acceptable standard-bottom line is he needs to hit some big plays though the air, no doubt, to get to that next level. BUT- he throws more TDs than pics and has demonstrated an ability to make plays. Last week the O as handcuffed by two early sacks due to Colledge and his migraines, and the D could not get off the field in the first half. Tannehill and the O came together a bit in the second half. He hurried a ball and missed wide open Clay at the end, and considering the line play and dropped passes I think that was his lone mistake...His INT was a tipped pass an questionable pass
I think Wallace has reason to be upset, and try to motivate in a positive way. There has been progress, but anyone would be fooling themselves right now to think THill is the answer. He is not.. not yet ....But after last season, there is no doubt in my mind hat the 58 sacks has stunted his growth a bit. And that effects his deep ball.... Kid still posted more TDs than picks, and has shown progress, albeit slow progress... don't think the deep ball is his strong point, but I'm not so sure it is this non-existent
The reality is that barring a big FA qb signing, or a sure fire draft pick (and we know how those usually pan out) this team is in it with RT for the foreseeable future, especially if he finishes this season as projected with mid to high twenties in TDs, and low teens in INTs and a mid to upper 80's QBR--- Regardless of how many deep TDs he throws or does no throw- Mgmt and coaches would be stupid to rid themselves of player like this unless its for a known commodity hat will help this tem right away. At QB that ain't gonna happen....
I you look at the QB futility of the last 15 years, Tannehill is the best player and prospect we have had.... He will be here next season for sure, barring some earth shattering trade, release, or trade up in the draft- and I'm not holding my breath for any of those...
Feidler, Greise, Cupepper, Ferrotte, Lemon, Beck, Harrington, Henne, Pennington, Moore - Enjoy Tannehill- he may progress or not, but right now he is the best we have had in a long time, and there is still room for development and improvement in this offense... He is not a franchise QB yet, but he certainly doesn't suck
