I've been reading that a lot of you guys think that if Miami beats the chargers, we can think about the playoffs....Are you guys serious? I know everyone is pumped about the big win against New England but let's calm down a little. I've suffered just like all of you have through the loosing streak and it felt good to see what this team is capable of doing. That being said, Miami is a year or two away from making the playoffs. I want nothing more than for Miami to make the playoffs this year but we need to be realistic. Our offense is not powerful enough to take us there and our D is not good enough to carry the offense. Just enjoy watching Miami improve this year and talk about the playoffs when this team and organization grows.

Yeah the playoffs are out of reach this year. But here soon this team will become the formidable opponent that can win any week. When the young guys get some experience under their belts and get used to teh 3-4. and when penny has had more time in this system and with these receivers our O and D will begin to step up. A the end of this year we will be super excited as a fan base to see how bright our future is.

I agree...2 years from now we can talk playoffs. Maybe next year a wild card, but I'm sure Brady will be back, the Bills will have gotten better, and who knows with the jets. It's going to be an uphill battle.

don't kill my buzz fin brother.

negativity - thumbs down
optimism - ftw

i'm very much inclined to agree with you...i think this year our coaches are working to get the foundation of our team in place, while at the same time, trying to make us as competitive as possible. i think next year or even the year after will be playoffs for us....just my 2 cents worth....

If we beat the Chargers, it goes to show that we can beat "any" (not saying all at this point) team any given Sunday. It either shows that the Pats and Chargers are really bad or we are better than predicicted. Both these teams were/are favorites to make the playoffs, so by beating both I think that gives us realistic expectations to at least make a run for the playoffs. Not saying were going 12-4 but between 7-9 and 10-6 would give us hope at a wildcard. It's a long season so a win this week would definately make a playoff scenario much more plausible, anything can happen over the next 13 -games good or bad, so a win here would be a step in that direction. A loss on the other hand digs a big hole making the chances of the playoffs that much more unlikely. The key is to take it one game at a time and see how it all plays out.

I think New England felt the same way before we played them two weeks ago. The 350+ yards we put up on them from our "base" offense told them otherwise.

I agree with you guys, but who even thought that the Giants would make the playoffs last year, let alone win the Super Bowl?

I'm sick of so many people thinking that we NEED to lose for another year before we can start winning. Football isn't as complicated as we make it out. You gameplan, you execute, and hopefully you win. Perhaps our record the last few years is more of a reflection of our lack of preparation than it is a reflection of our talent. Before Moss and Welker arrived in New England, how many times did we wonder how Brady was so successful when he "had no receivers"? Or how many times did we wonder how it was possible that Player X from New England would get hurt, and Player Y would come in and perform at the same level? Clearly it wasn't talent, it was PREPARATION. Do you realize we're one good play at the end of the Jets game from being 2 and 1? The best teams aren't always the most talented, and the most talented aren't always the best teams.

Having said that, today's game is a tough one. Let's hope for a good showing. I NEVER accept losing, but I also will not condemn Sparano and the guys if they don't beat San Diego. And yet, somewhere in the back of my mind I am hoping that the game on October 26th, will be for first place in the division.

Who said that? I said no playoffs this year, not we;re going to lose all of the games. I think you're a little mixed up. This team is is in the right direction and as fans, we need to take it at that.

Chargers are the best team on our schedule. If we beat them, we can beat anyone.

Thus

Dolphins > Chargers > NFL = Playoffs.

I wouldn't say if we beat the chargers we're going to the playoffs. But if we beat the chargers we should have a pretty good chance of finishing above .500 which would tickle me to death after the drought we've been in.

With this screwy season we CERTAINLY HAVE A SHOT at making the playoffs, hell the colts and Patriots might not make it. GO FINS BABY:up:
