Really enjoyed this article.

Thanks for sharing. I don't know what the alternative was for Campbell. He sticks to playing vagina ball, they don't even beat Tenn or Houston. He can't play finesse one week and smash mouth the next. He's trying to get the team to embrace a more physical style of play. If he gets his way, the team will draft and bring in players to fit the system. A system people believe is necessary to beat our divisional foes. I understand the point the author is making but I think his argument is flawed in that we were playing the type of ball suited to our personnel - a team infected w vaginitis- that philbin built - and we weren't going to win another game all year when he took over. The fact we kicked the **** out of two teams playing tough suggests Campbell's way > Philbins way even w roster built to play finesse. We can't change the roster now and we were sucking so not sure what he expects DC to do.

I think the article has a major flaw. The author calls us a "finesse" team, but the characteristics of our roster are similar to many successful teams. I think the article does make a valid point in talking about how our players are often miscast in roles for which they are not equipped to handle.
1. Tannehill shows good athleticism and accuracy when moving out of the pocket, but we hardly ever move the pocket.
2. Dallas Thomas has good mobility but is usually asked to block bigger opponents head up.
3. We have 2 good tight ends with size, yet we never use them for jump all situations in the red zone

This is why the Patriots are successful. Belichick rarely asks his players to perform beyond their strengths.

I said this last year that this team was shoddily put together and is still is. Hopefully they get it and we could build around Suh on D and Tanny on O.

I think this team can play physical on offense, they just opt not to for the most part, per playcalling.
I mentioned this in another thread, but on Jay Ajayi's 23 yd run against Buffalo, the whole line was blocking fast and strong. Dallas Thomas, Turner, Pouncey, everyone was getting out in front and pushing defenders along pretty soundly.
(I'd link to the vine of it but I can't find it.)
If these guys were 100% soft, they wouldn't have much success doing this. With more snaps for Jay, I think we could see a lot of offensive push throughout the game with him trucking the ball more often.
I've seen it before like when Moreno ran wild over New England -- get a guy with momentum moving the ball, and the supporting cast will follow in the same intensity.

I wish he would have had to jam the square peg in the round hole by trying to run the ball at the end of the half instead of that slant pass.
