Looking at how the receivers stack up, I was first intrigued by those larger receivers who could dominate with size and leaping ability. While I would still love the Dolphins to add this type of receiver, I am starting to really like tape on Nelson Agholor., and I wonder if he could be a target for our 2nd round pick.

1. His routes look crisp, and he knows how to setup his defender.
2. He's got a lot of wiggle and run after catch ability.
3. He can return kicks right away.

i think the biggest knock on him is inconsistent hands on some routine catches, but I believe he can be coached to improve his focus.

He fits the offense perfectly. Reminds me a lot of Jeremy Maclin.

If we don't go WR in the 1st, he'd be my dream pick in the 2nd.

Agholor is a very nice receiver that fits this offense perfect. I love that everything about him. Only catches the ball with his hands, has some wiggle, & creates yards after the catch. If we don't get one of the big three in the first round I would love to get him in the second round. Very underrated receiver in a deep class.

I agree he would be a better fit for our offense compared to a bigger WR that Finheaven demands. USC always has good WR's that never produce much in the NFL and every year I think a WR from USC is going to break that trend. Maybe Agholor will change it. I think a lot of the success depends on which team drafts them.

Have him as the 6th best WR and 1st WR of the 2nd round group. I'd prefer Agholor in the 2nd to Parker in the 1st.

If we miss out on the big 3, he is the only WR I feel comfortable getting in round 2. Unless DGB slides.

I personally don't know why he's not rated higher in this draft. The only real knocks I've heard on him is that he doesn't have "ideal" size and he can be a bit of a one trick pony as a straight "go" route runner, but I don't see this as being the case at all. If we can't get a top 3 receiver at 14, I'd love him in the 2nd, but I doubt he gets to us. He could be an option if we trade WAY down in the first or trade up in the 2nd.

He is a very good player indeed. Would present very good value at 47. Also I like that the OP noted his ability to return kicks and punts, because that is something that we should be looking into. Landry did very well at that job last year, especially as a KR…but if you are banking on him being one of our top few options at WR which we are…I sure as heck wouldn't be risking him injury as a return man.

I agree. He's kind of a poor man's Amari Cooper in that he is also very smooth and polished. Not as big or physical as Cooper, but definitely someone I think would be worth taking in round 2.

Doesn't this guy project to the slot? He doesn't project as a boundary guy. So unless you see Landry on the boundary i don't think we need a slot guy

That's not a poor mans Amari Cooper that's flat out broke and living on the streets Amari Cooper. Not even comparable IMO. Agholor is a long strider to me, not sudden, not very quick, doesn't seem very elusive in the open field. He's got straight line speed but there's a reason he refused to run the 20-yard shuttle and 3-cone. He's got good hands and good vision, I like that he's a willing blocker although he's absolutely horrible at it and he worked almost exclusively from the slot.

So very like Jarvis Landry then.

not for me.... i like Landry's footwork, I like his lateral ability and shifty more (where Agholor needs to re-accelerate when moving laterally... slower). love his hands and ability to get the ball much better than Nelson!!! plus he is stronger

Nelson Agholor- USC: he has great speed and is a runner when in open field and able to run straight, he lacks lateral quickness and acceleration is decent , he has poor footwork as well but does run a variety of routes, has decent hands and adjusts well to the ball.

Landry is more sudden IMO, better change of direction and he will flat out clock somebody when he's blocking in the run game...fearless in that regard. Agholor doesn't show any apprehension when blocking he's just terrible at it.
