ZIMMER TOO BLUNT?

The Dolphins liked Zimmer’s résumé, and he and general manager Jeff Ireland have a good relationship. But one source said he might have been too blunt and honest for the Dolphins’ liking. Zimmer can be outspoken at times, including calling former Falcons coach Bobby Petrino a “gutless b--tard” for leaving the job without telling any of his assistants.
Really? Is your Ego that fragile? I could see if he was spreading falsehoods, but if he stating the truth it is time to grow a pair and take it like a man. That is the problem with this owner and FO, they can't stand it when people point out that they are doing the wrong thing. I will say right now and I hope Ross somehow hears this, "Steven Ross, you are a horrible owner and your lackey, Jeff Ireland, is an IDIOT!"

These guys are idiots. Good luck filling seats next season with coaching staff that's gonna be here.
They better do something big in the draft/FA or you can count the fans in attendance next season on one hand.

the more and more i watch ross do business in the nfl , the more i agree with what others have been saying all along.

ross is a clown

Wow, just when I was starting to warm up to Zimmer. Oh well, here's to the no name coach we'll be hiring :brewskis:.

Ross cares more about sitting up in the booth chatting it up with HAS BEEN celebs than this team, Irland cares more about drafting O-lineman in the first than he does about this team They are both MASSIVE:tubes:!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Zimmer was the best candidate for this job and they botched this to might as well sart calling us the starfish..

None of you were at the interview and the head coach needs to be able to have a positive relationship with the GM and owner. If they think Zimmer is an ***, how can you blame them for eliminating him from the search?

i just created a topic about bowles being the head coach choice.

in that [as well as several other threads this week] i mentioned how the only thing a coach needs to have to land this job is for jeff ireland to like him. NOTHING else matters. not experiance, philosophy or x's and o's.

jeff ireland is the guy you have to make happy to get this job. ross is paying the check and riding shotgun on the process, but JEFF IRELAND is the guy who will be making that choice.

ireland wants no part of a guy who could possibly disagree with him. he has worked long and hard to position himself to be the end all of the miami dolphins organization. its his baby. he hires, he fires. he drafts, he picks the free agents. the last thing he wants is someone coming in showing him up with more knowledge of the game and its business.

i thought all along it was weird ireland having any interest in a straight shooter like zim.

reminds me of wanny getting rid of mike westhoff after he pointed up wanny on some procedure in a meeting. wannys ego couldnt take having anyone question anything he said or did. what a great job his buddy keith armstrong did in place of westhoff huh?

and we will see lots of this kind of thing with ireland from here on out. he wants credit for every success and will dish out the excuses and will finger point in every failure. no one IS or ever will be considering todd bowles for a head coaching job. he is a roony rule outlet only. ireland knows this and he is his PERFECT coach!!

were in deep poop with these two clowns. i cringe at the things that are in the works behind the scenes right now.

So are they not susceptible to making bad decisions like the rest of us? Are they not susceptible to being bad at their jobs like some people are?

gruden was an ***
i could go on but i think you get the picture. we need a take no **** coach not another yes man. time for a change.

I have no idea why everyone is going so crazy about who the next HC is.......unless we get a real QB it won't matter if we have Shula, Lombardi and Landry.

Ozzy rules!!

Yes, they are capable of making bad decisions. But it is not fair to assume that EVERY decision is a bad one. That is ridiculous and unfair.

some of the players on the bengals said they would "run through a wall for zimmer" and "take a bullett for zimmer", so instead of getting a coach with discipline were going to hire another laid-back cam cameron just because he can run an offense, just great

Oh, I think they've proven time and time again, they are bad at their jobs.

I have said it before, and I will say it again. Ireland is a big puzzy. Ross needs to wise up.

I am at the point where I think our next season is already lost right now. We might as well hire Philbin if he can get Flynn down here. A package deal. At least at the end of our next season, we will still have Flynn after Philbin gets fired.
