Really, this is how they choose a coach?

Yes, they are capable of making bad decisions. But it is not fair to assume that EVERY decision is a bad one. That is ridiculous and unfair.

Well in the past 4 years how many good decisions has this team made??? I bet you dont need 2 hands to total them up!!!

I'm sorry, but I think the way Zimmer reacted to the Petrino situation is a legit reason to be concerned. The guy came across as volatile and unprofessional, IMO. If he gave the team that kind of vibe, like he could pop off at the handle Raheem Morris/Hue Jackson style in his interview, then I think they were probably right to steer clear of him.

I'm okay with wanting to go with youth.

Ross and Ireland must be very insecure people. Billick and now Zimmer, two people who are secure and confident in their beliefs, but those types of people must be very threatening to the acorn hunter and droopy dawg.

Given their track record so far, it is completely reasonable to understand why this list of coaches is seen as another bad move. To not understand on the other hand, is what I think is ridiculous.

Let's be logical for a moment. If someone thinks that Ross and Ireland are bad at their jobs, which many do given the current state of the team, why is it so hard to understand people's reaction to this?

Real life business world situation:

Guy always has a history of messing up his reports.
He has not turned in a good one yet and is somehow still employed.
He hands in a report to you.
Before reading it, would you expect it to be good? Or would you assume it's poor like his other work and you'll have to tell him to go fix it?
Which is the most logical expectation given his history?

That is what I mean regarding Ross and Ireland.

None of you were at the interview and the head coach needs to be able to have a positive relationship with the GM and owner. If they think Zimmer is an ***, how can you blame them for eliminating him from the search?

Parcells was the biggest *** in the nfl and Ireland worships him!

Ugh!!!! I REALLY hope this is not a factual story as I'll be sick to think that our owner and even Ireland was so stupid as to let the next best coaching prospect walk because you thought he was too bold and honest about how crappy it was for the former coach of the Falcons to bail on everyone without saying a word. Sorry, but I think that level of honesty would be refreshing around here. Please let this be another reporter full of it like most reports the last few weeks, but I wouldn't put it past our FO right now. We just keep on shooting ourselves in the foot again and again.

ross and ierland are dumb and dummer. Not only that they are the best of butt buddies too.
