Being that Thanksgiving is tomorrow I thought it would be nice to come here to my favorite website and give my thanks to all of you on here, as well as the admins and mods, for providing me with hours of reading material and a place to come talk about our(well most of ours) favorite football team. I hope that all of you have safe travels if you are going anywhere today for the holiday, and may you have a wonderful time with your families, friends, or whoever.

1. Thanks to the organization for drafting RT17. I'm thankful that he is on our team because we could be stuck with a lot worse and again be in a position like we have been since Marino, and 1 year with Pennington, to have QB issues.

2. I'd like to thank the front office for getting their heads on straight and hiring Lazor to be the OC. He has been a breath of fresh air. I'm excited to see what the future holds with our football team offensively with Lazor and Tannehill at the helm.

3. As of right now I'd like to thank the Ownership for hiring Dennis Hickey to be the GM. He has done a better job, albeit in his only year, at the GM position here than any GM we've had over the past 10-15 years. Draft picks like James and Landry, as well as solid FA pick-ups, have helped this team resemble a top 10 team and go out and have a good chance to win against anyone in the NFL.

Now to the RG3 item in the title. I'm incredibly thankful that we didn't trade up to draft that QB!!!!!! Wow, did we dodge a bullet there. As a matter of fact...I hope that the Redskins trade him to the Jets for a 2nd round pick in the 2015 draft so that we can have the pleasure of beating them repeatedly! Sorry Junc, but that would be a dream come true!!!

I'd like to add, that I'm thankful that we are not in the Jets' shoes right now and I hope that our team is getting fired up for this Monday Night Football game because we can't afford to lose these types of games any longer.

Happy Thanksgiving Finheaven!!!

RGIII won't be traded. I don't think the Redskins have the cap room to absorb the hit of that trade. There were many here in the draft forum that wanted to trade the entire draft for RGIII and I got blasted many times for saying I wouldn't take him and I thought he'd be a bust. Luckily we were drafting at #8 that year and the Redskins offer was better than anything the Dolphins could have put together...but I remember hearing some whispers that Ireland was interested.

I'm optimistic about Hickey. I hope he can keep it up. His first draft was solid but I've seen GMs have a solid first draft (or what we thought was a solid first draft) and then later tank in following drafts. Although I never got that feeling with Ireland...every one of his drafts left me wondering what the heck he was doing.

The scuttlebutt is that Shanahan wanted no part of Griffin, instead wanting Washington to stay in place and draft Tannehill.. but Snyder, who's butt-in-ski-ism makes one appreciate Ross, was calling the shots. If true, we really did dodge 2 major bullets.

Well said Nando, we do have some good things to be thankful for this year. A very Happy and safe Thanksgiving to you also.

Yep, heard that too. I was thinking today, while listening to Joe Rose who brought this same exact thing up on his show this morning, what Tannehill might have become under Shanahan's coaching. I'm guessing Tannehill would have progressed faster under Shanahan just by the fact that Washington had a better offensive line than Miami, a better running back in Alfred Morris and better WRs. Most likely everyone would be ticked off that Ireland didn't trade up in front of Washington to take Tannehill...but that's just a guess.

Only thing to me that's worse than Bob being in Subway commercials, is Manziel being in Snickers, talk about famous for being famous, atleast Griffin blew up his rookie year, Manziel has been pine surfing. Kim Kardashian of the NFL.

Yeah, we would have lost out on Ryan and Ireland would have happily grabbed Bob as the consolation prize. Thank heavens for Snyder. Also, there's reason to believe, after seeing how Tannehill is rapidly developing under Lazor, that if instead of Sherman, a more progressive, innovative offensive mind was the Aggies' HC developing Tannehill might well have been the next hot property after Luck that teams were anxious to trade up for.

I am VERY thankful that Matt Moore went out and won six games for us in 2011.

There is no way we could have out-sucked the Curtis Painter Colts, and it's likely that we would have drafted RG3-10 if we had the second overall pick.

So here's to you, Matt Moore! One of my all-time favorite Dolphins for your heroics down the stretch in 2011. And I really mean that.

Just for clarification, the RG3 trade to the Jets that I spoke of was not a realistic idea. It was more of a Christmas wish LOL. One that would make me smile. But enough on that, I think Manziel is the Kardashian of the NFL a little. At least he was a Heisman winner. Barring any type of injury, I can't wait to see Tannehill continue to progress and show the NFL that the Miami Dolphins drafted a top 5 QB!!!

Do you mean in terms of being a big ass and/or an attention whore? :ponder:

I am assuming that RG3 would have been gone by our pick.
