How would you feel if ownership and management got together and decided the only way for this franchise to return to winning form is to bite the bullet, and go into total rebuild mode. This would of course involve cutting or trading mid to older range veterans who have big contracts, filling out our roster with young players, making us eat a bunch of dead money against our cap.

Not Taylor or Zach Thomas, but you get my drift.

NO!

Im not sure How I would feel. I want the Fins to return to their winning ways, but as a Florida Panthers Fan, i can tell you that these rebuilding years are really tough to go through as a fan. And dont forget the Fair weather Miami Fans who will stop attending games if they have bad losing seasons. I say whatever Coach Cameron wants to do, its the best thing. Im putting my Trust in Cam

It's what we should have done two years ago.

We can once again become a winning team without a complete rebuild. A consistent infusion of youth has already begun and remember, our offense and secondary (Although inadequate) isnt that old. Its our defensive line that is old and we already have young starters in the wings. No need for a complete rebuild. Just two seasons ago we were a 9-7 team and 1 game behing NE (And although it was 2 years ago and we are 2 years older - Thomas and Taylor had better seasons this year than that year). There will be cuts and restructures so we arent that bad off...Besides, Thomas is pretty much garaunteed to restructure as he does EVERY single year, and Taylor will most likely restructure as well

There is no need to do a total rebuild. I'm all for letting some of the grey beards go but we already have some younger players who can possibly step in and get the job done.

I just don't think that 'rebuilding' is what it used to be. We really don't have the resources to 'rebuild' (available cap room and/or necessary draft picks). We have some pieces missing that need to be addressed, however, I don't feel we can address them all this offseason. I think it'll take a couple of offseasons. That is the dilemma because of the age of our stars...(Taylor, Thomas now and Chambers, McMike, Booker and DC in two years....)

The only thing we can do is make better personnel decisions than Wanny and Saban have made in the last 6 yrs. To that point, I certainly hope Mueller is that guy. It's the only worry I have right now. The coaches we have can coach, but they still need talent to succeed in the way that we want them to...

We just need a few things here and there, so there is no need to completly rebuild. Let's start with a QB and then we'll go from there.

Mueller is a very good GM. He has an excellent history of putting together very good talented teams

I would feel like we are late.....should have done this 3 years ago.

There are obviously going to have to be some major changes. We are a 6-10 team after all. Looking forward to the direction Cameron will take this team!

The days of "total rebuilding" is over. Now, the NFL sees its best teams with both vetran and young talent. alent being the key word, not average player.

a total rebuild no. But recent history has shown if you get the right coaching staff together, sign some key FAs, and have a good draft you can turn your franchise around in one year.

Take Cam's old team the San Diego Chargers; 4 years ago they were the worst team in the league and had the number 1 overall pick and everybody said it would take years to rebuild. What did they do that offseason?

Traded David Boston to us for Jamar Fletcher-Fletcher wasn't good for them, but they got rid of a huge distraction

Named Wade Phillips DC to go along with the 2nd year OC Cam Cameron

Traded for Romen Oben-Who is a very underrated tackle
Signed Mike Goff from Cincy
Signed Randal Godfrey from Seatle
Midway through the season, traded wit Tampa for Keenan McCardell

then there was the draft
First they drafted Eli Manning, but traded his rights to New York for Phillip Rivers, a 3rd round pick, and a first rounder the next year (more on that pick later).
The Chargers then went on to draft...
Igor Olshansky- starter from Day 1 and a very good DE in the 3-4
Nate Keading- Pro Bowl Kicker
Nick Hardwick-Pro Bowl Center
Shaun Phillips- 10+ sacks this year and pro bowl alternate
Michael Turner-Great backup RB
Shane Olivea-Starting RT from day 1.

3 pro bowlers (Rivers, Keading, Hardwick) and another that easily could've been a pro bowler (Phillips), but in that one draft they got 6 starters, and turned their team into a playoff team.

the next year they added to their young nucleus using the G-Men's pick to get Shawn Merriman, and their own pick to get Louis Castillo. They also drafted

Vincent Jackson
Darren Sproles-return man when healthy

3 more starters (4 if you count Sproles). 1 Pro Bowler, and another alternate

This year they got another Pro Bowle in McNeil.

But the Chargers turn around began in 2004. If we can pick and chose our assistants carefully, get the right FAs, and find the rights players in the draft (Phillips and Hardwick were considered reaches), I think we can start to build success.

Like a few others, I think a rebuild is long overdue. This franchise has been trading away draft picks, and adding aging veterans to fill holes for far too long in my opinion. It has to stop now....

It's alright to add a few FA vets here and there, but when you don't infuse any youth after a few years, you end up like us, the oldest defenses in the national football league.....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

If that were the case, then I'd say someone found a bag belonging to Ricky hidden under a grate at the training complex. The team isn't in a state where it needs to be torn apart and put back together in order to be competitive and succeed. Improvements have to be made, quality depth has to be added, underachievers have to be let go. It's standard football stuff from here on out. We, like every other team in the NFL, just need to make the right personnel and coaching decisions. The sky is not falling because we went 6-10 last year.
