Not expecting much from the Miami Dolphins this year? Yeah...me too.

Oh, we'll have our moments of glory in 2009, I'm sure of that...but the reality is that we're only into our 2nd year under a new FO and coaching staff. Compounding the issues at hand are key missing pieces to both offense and defense, and only time can fill those slots. We're still rebuilding and retooling.

It is prudent not to have your expectations to high for the 2009 Miami Dolphins, yet it is still very early in the season and a big inter-division game looms just hours away.

Maybe tonight will be one of those "glory moments" we would expect to see at some time this season. One can only hope....

I think defensively as long as the young secondary works out, is pretty much there.

Offensively....I don't even know what to think of our WR's....I watched Manning throw all over the cowboys last night with a ragtag bunch of recievers...so I don't know what we have there.

The line on paper should be good, but it hasn't happened yet...

QB...we have the present, we just don't know if we have the future...personally Im not opposed to using what will probably be a top 10 pick next yr on a QB. Whether Henne plays or not.

Uh ragtag bunch of WR's??? Steve Smith and Mario Manningham were HUGE college WR's and I was hoping the Fins would draft both of them when they were there. We passed on Manningam like we passed on several other WR's that could be nice on our team.

There is a reason Steve Smith was called "the other Steve Smith"

Manningham until last night has been unimpressive....

I'm saying they attacked that defense wihout "a #1 reciever"

Until we can utilize a whole football field we will not know what we have in recievers.

ummm okayyy...This is Smith's 3rd season which is typically a breakout year. This is Mario's 2nd season and that's a heck of a game for a 2 year pro.

You keep thinking that those 2 WR's are just ragtag WR's and watch what they do this year.

(i'm in no way a giants fan but I can know talent when I see it)

They could turn into great receivers, but right now they are a rag tag group.

Im not disagreeing with you....my point was that all the "experts" said the Giants had no real wr's....hence they drafted 2 this past draft. The Giants attacked the Cowboys....all over the football field....we don't do that and I'm not so quick to pin it on the recievers.

I agree with you there but I don't think that's on our receivers. I think that's on our QB. Penny doesn't have the arm to be a gunslinger and just toss it around like that. But I still think those WR's are better than what we have here.

Would I want Manningham over Camarillo? Probably.

Would I want Smith over Hartline? probably.

But it still doesn't change anything with our offense if we have Pennington throwing it.

Feeling the exact same way...get these kids all the reps they can this year...then in an 'uncapped' environment, go after 6 stud free agents!...like a fine Parcell's stew...mmm-mmm-good!

No pun intended, but I really hate it when fans say they are not expecting too much from our phins.....how can you not have high expectations? we went 11-5 and won the division last year with a less talented roster. Of course i'm expecting big things from our Phins. I have high expectations. Am I suppose to have low expectations just because our strength of schedule?

Having low expectations is basically the same thing as saying we got lucky last year.

So if you think we got lucky last year, then don't expect too much from our phins.
