Dolphins secondary coach Todd Bowles has helped install a secondary scheme that is proactive instead of reactive, and he seems secure with Goodman and Allen — so far.

"Will has a great feel for the game and is always going to play hard, while Andre' has great feet and work ethic, and he still takes notes every day like he's a rookie," Bowles said.

"But we haven't played a game yet."

Dolphins coach Tony Sparano praised their aggressiveness in press coverage at the line.

"You'll see some guys that want to get up in your face at the line of scrimmage, but quickly when the ball's hiked they're kind of getting away from the action a little bit. These guys are competitive," Sparano said. "And if their guy makes a play they're upset about that."

Yeah..I've posted before about how I'm real excited to see what Bowles can do with our secondary.

If you look at his history, his secondaries are known for getting A LOT of picks. They are very aggressive. In Dallas last year, 3 out of 4 of their DB's went to the pro-bowl and 1 year in Cleveland his DB's got an insane # of picks. Like 31 or something. The Jets had a lot of picks while he was there. If our guys can stay healthy they could surprise.

Corner will be our top pick in 2009 if were in a position to get one of the top 2 guys. We have guys who plays to the maximum level there talent will allow them too. Thats not a championship caliber player, its the kind of player you say "I like where he's at right now" and "he's doing some good things" or "we love his effort".

Jason Allen has a butt load of talent, but he needs to the desire to back it up. He's so hard to get a good read on. But from a pure talent level, he's hands down the best i've seen at that position in the last 15 years in Miami. I guess it goes without saying considering where he was drafted. Thats the good stuff, the bad stuff is that he hasn't been consistent at all. Is it the coaching staff changes or what? I hope so, I hope he cares more than he appears to. Other than tackle Ronnie Brown head on (which no one has ever done, seriously, its a record) what can't he do?

Yeremiah Bell pre-achilles tear I was excited about, post achilles tear, well lets just hope he starts 16 games for us. That will be a huge contribution. I suspect a SS will be one of our first 5 picks next year as well. There are alot of reasons to be optomistic, and unless Jason Allen is a pro-bowler this year, the secondary will struggle again.

Will Allen isn't known for his picks though. He's known for dropping them, all, the freaking time.

Jason is playing mostly at safety this year and is running with the first team defense. During the mini-camps the coaches were raving about his range.
