This thread is mostly intended for those hardcore Dolfans who saw every game since the beginning of the 09 season.

There is that one play that caught my attention that we run everytime where Henne goes to his right and hits Camarillo on a comeback route.

I'm not sure if we are overusing that play but it worked against the Jets(game 1) and the Bucs...Did not work against the Pats, Saints and 2nd Jets game.
Its actually a nice play where the whole O-line moves from the middle to the right side of the field, Henne moves to his right and hits Camarillo and it's always Camarillo on that play.

I'm just wondering maybe if we should switch to a different receiver like Hartline to confuse the defense or run that same play to the left side which could be trouble for Henne. This play is becoming predictable in my opinion

What do you think??

Henne is solid throwing on the run but i HATE that play. We have a hard enough time getting open with a full field, why cut the field in half by rolling out?

taking the play out of the playbook is out of question ... what you might start seeing though, is some corner routes on top of camarillo, or some underneath stuff to complement the play...

but if i am right, those are already there, the comeback route is henne's first read and he's been facing a boatload of man coverage on 3rd downs this year, so for a cornerback to defend a comeback route by a sharp route runner like camarillo and a cannon arm like henne's , it's real hard ... not to mention the chemistry they seem to have on those comeback routes, they are very comfortable and succesful running those plays

Damn, I just told my friend that we are overusing that play. Fortunately, I think Henning noticed the same thing and if i'm not mistaken in the last drive, instead of throwing to the sideline, Henne threw it inside to bess while on the move. It was a beautiful play.

Because once we have shown teams that play enough, Henne's arm is strong enough to throw back across the field when the defense rolls to one side with our line. It's coming, trust me.

i think it's a good idea... especially against blitzing defences like the jets' , throwing in a rollout takes the QB away from the pressure, and although he's cutting the field in half, he's got more receivers, less defenders, and an easier read ...

So what do you call a Dolfan who's seen almost every single game since the '82 season???

i think we do it more to try to counter a blitz and give Henne some more time to pass... plus he does throw well on the run...

i personally think we run too many curl routes in general and need to get more creative in the passing game... double moves, 5 wides to get mismatches, deeper crosses, etc etc

I think the red zone plays that seem to work best for us is throwing it to the tight ends in the back of the end zone or on a slant route to the corners of the end zone. Usually we run a wildcat play with Ronnie going up the middle once or twice in the red zone and it seems like it is all or nothing. I would love to see Ronnie throw it a little more in the red zone....he makes very accurate throws and if the receiver isn't open he usually will run it instead of forcing a horrible pass.

Looking at Redzone plays....

we really under use the Wildcat there, giving the ball to Ricky on the run and pulling Long (when we over load to the left) would be a great play but for some reason we shy away from the Wildcat at times when it would be most useful.

Even the fake dive, quick pitch out is always a good play we hardly take advantage of especially how well L.Polite is running the short yardage he becomes a good decoy.

I also live in Colorado and I think the only game I have missed in the past six years was a 22-0 loss to the Cleveland Browns when I was sick as a dog. Before then I didn't have DirecTV and wasn't near any sport's bars but there is no excuse to ever miss a game.

Damn, kudos to you! I just moved out here a couple months ago (and I love it BTW) and was born and raised in So Flo so I had no excuses. But now I am in LOVE my NFL Sunday ticket and NFL network.

I was wondering how you were able to watch every game since 1982 living here in Colorado....but I see you just moved here from Florida. My brother owns a sport's bar called Rhinos here in the Springs but they mainly just have on the Bronco games, so I watch my Phins at another place as they are usually are the early game, and then I sometimes watch the Broncos at 2 pm at his bar. I eat and drink for free most of the time. :woot: I hope I can see a game at Landshark Stadium some day. I have seen the Phins in Denver four times.

Wouldn't mind adding a wrinkle to that rollout play. How bout Henne rolls all the way out, stops and throws back across the field in the endzone to a TE or WR that breaks all the way to the left?

Obviously it would require the entire play to roll right in order to have 1 on 1 all the way back to the left. But it would be something to add to mix it up.
