i just wanted to know how the skins get all these good free agent signs? they got brandon lloyd by trade, antwaan randle el, adam archuleta and now they might sign andre carter and show interest in john abraham! these guys are all alot better then our dolphins sign, but i wonder how they can do it, washington was way over the salary cap and even with restructured contracts and the new cba i thought miami got more free salary space but i looks like washington is one of the best football teams right now...

They can do it becuase they backload the deals and give big signing bonuses. The cap hit for the signing bonus is spread out over 5 years, and they restructure or cut their people before they have to pay the big base salaries. Most owners are not willing to cough up the cash for those signing bonuses, but Snyder is.

I was just thinking about how all these signings are going to make the Skins a better team. I think that they go deep into the playoffs next year and possibly to the Super Bowl. They have put weapons around Brunnell and Moss and the defense is always stout. They play in a tough as nails division but i still see them coming out on top.

Problem is: If you sign a player and spread out the signing bonus, it still hits your cap, even though the player is gone... Why hasn't this cost them on their cap is a mystery to me.

They bank on the salary cap increasing each year enough so that the hits from the salaries are not as significant, but yeah I don't see how they escape this.
